Reviews
- Engaging and satisfying combat system with extensive skill trees for both characters.

- Strong emotional storytelling with a compelling ending and well-crafted soundtrack.
- Limited enemy variety and repetitive boss fights that reuse the same movesets multiple times.

- Technical issues including inconsistent optimization, lack of ultrawide support, and problematic camera angles.
story
1,174 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe story receives mixed reviews, with many players finding its pacing slow and uneven—often dragging in the early chapters and rushing significant plot developments and lore revelations into the final stages. While the narrative concept and worldbuilding hold promise and manage to engage some players emotionally by the end, issues like repetitive dialogue, stiff character animations, lack of expressive performances, and a heavy reliance on exposition-heavy cutscenes diminish its overall impact. Despite these flaws, the story’s themes and key moments resonate well with those who persevere, making it an above-average but imperfect narrative experience.
“The story kept me on my toes and had a few plot twists I didn't see coming, and it was one of the few games where I was playing mostly just to see where the story was going to go. I felt like I was discovering the story with the main character as the game progressed, and honestly the ending was amazing. The story was the biggest pro for me and really carries the game.”
“Unbelievable game, absolutely amazing story with such a bittersweet well done ending.”
“The story itself will be a love/hate affair. It's a slow burn at first (classic JRPG style), but once it picks up... man, I cried like a baby at the end.”
“The story is on god the weakest part of this game which is very bad since it definitely gets forced down your throat at times. It is an average run-of-the-mill 'big apocalypse is happening and you are the only one who can stop it' with the game starting you straight in the thick of it with a quick tutorial through a battlefield where your character Emma is assisted by a bunch of other characters you don’t know, only to later be taken back in time at the actual beginning of her adventure where you are still surrounded by characters you don’t know and probably won’t care for while Emma incredibly emotionlessly just says yes to everything told to her. It gets explained why she’s emotionless in the story but it really doesn’t help that type of character can't work. Only a bit later in the first area do we get subjected to two flashback sequences of Emma’s background showing how she was degraded and used as just a guard by her settlement, which just serves as another stretch of tutorial and cutscenes that already get more and more grating with the story not being the best, just sitting in a walking iron tank watching the characters talk mostly while itching to get back into the game.”
“The entire story is dumped on you at the end of the game as if there wasn’t enough time during those 10 hours in the middle portion stretch that you could easily delete, and you would end up losing nothing. The story pacing is incredibly bad, with 90% of the game consisting of meaningless dialogue and slow cutscenes, then in the last two missions everything gets lore dumped on you. It’s such an incredibly lazy and boring way to present the story. The last few hours are essentially a massive lore dump, and the game’s story twist could have been delivered better.”
“The story telling is slow and the pace is terrible. The cutscenes are so long and bust the immersion and story progression. There is a 2-10 second pause between all dialogue fragments. The story is painfully boring and the dialogue is full of cringe, with long monologues repeating the motivations and regrets of dying characters. The story pacing feels off, with most of the game being narrative downtime with unskippable cutscenes. You get 45% of the story in the last 15% of the game via a recording speaking (locking you out from actions), and then the other 45% of the story in the last 1-10% via a guy talking nonstop while you AFK.”
