The graphics of the game are widely praised for their vibrant vaporwave aesthetic, featuring trippy visuals and a distinct art style that enhances the overall experience. Players appreciate the attention to detail and the clarity of elements within the game, although some mention that the visuals can be overwhelming during extended play sessions. Overall, the combination of beautiful graphics and engaging gameplay contributes to a highly enjoyable experience, particularly for fans of the vaporwave genre.
“The graphics are nice and the controls are passable.”
“Beautiful visuals and smooth movement.”
“The amazing graphics and challenging difficulty make this one of my favorite games.”
“The only real negative I can think of is that the visuals do get really taxing, at least on my eyes, so I have not been able to play more than 45 minutes at a time, but when levels are 10 seconds long, that isn't the biggest deal in the world.”
“The final areas ditch the vaporwave visuals for demonic ones and that was disappointing.”
“As far as visuals, it has all the vaporwave staples such as dolphins, Grecian busts, and toilets.”

The gameplay is characterized by enjoyable mechanics and a satisfying swinging experience, particularly in the early levels, but it suffers from a frustrating final world that imposes strict linearity. While many players appreciate the variety and challenge of the levels, some express dissatisfaction with the marathon mode, which they feel detracts from the overall enjoyment. Overall, the game features great visuals, a solid soundtrack, and a fun core loop, making it appealing for fans of speedrunning and grappling mechanics, despite some design flaws and mechanical issues.
“I think the game is simply amazing in terms of mechanics, visuals, and level design conducive to exploring the intricacies of the satisfying web-slinging gameplay.”
“The swinging mechanic is simple but really hard to master, the level design is great with a very good rhythm switching between quite linear and more open levels.”
“Verlet swing is pure bliss, gorgeous graphics, top-notch gameplay, simple and easy to pick up but hard to master.”
“Playing through world 5 was one of the most awful gameplay experiences I have ever been through.”
“Now sadly this game has a 30 stage marathon where you have to beat them all deathless, and now time for me to rant, why in God's name does any game still do this? Can devs seriously stop doing it? It's not fun, it's cheap difficulty and has nothing to do with mechanical skill. It entirely tests your nerve and consistency. The only way those things get better is by simply sinking a bunch of time into a game. Verlet is relatively short, so I spent a good day's worth of time trying to get my consistency up and couldn't even make so much as a mark into this marathon. Let me say it came dangerously close to ruining the entire game's experience because of it. I am so absolutely sick of these abhorrently awful forms of difficulty that I simply am just refusing to do them anymore. Everything else in the game is fine, even the 15-minute speedrun has some leeway, so I don't mind it. In the end, my idiotic bullheaded brain decided to grind this out and it took 10 hours to get done. Honestly quite a slog but mildly enjoyed it at times, still a high no recommend for this marathon.”
“I think the controls and gameplay are just darn annoying.”

The music in the game is widely praised for its vibrant and engaging soundtrack, particularly highlighting the vaporwave aesthetic that complements the visuals and gameplay. While some players found the music to be less memorable over time, many appreciated its ability to enhance the overall atmosphere and experience, especially during intense gameplay moments. Overall, the combination of great soundtracks and creative sound design contributes significantly to the game's appeal.
“The music and visuals are amazing, the controls are right and responsive, and the campaign teaches you new tricks every couple of levels to help you improve.”
“You swing around in vaporwave-aesthetic levels with a kickin' soundtrack and great visuals, all while feeling like a badass.”
“The game transitions from being a really chill vaporwave experience to a manic drum & bass beat as you're swinging around in hell itself.”
“Not really demanding mentally, turn off the music, put on a video/podcast in the background, and have fun practicing getting the angles right.”
“If you’re not a fan of vaporwave music/art style, then you might not enjoy this game to its fullest potential.”
“It holds no musical ties; the soundtrack is not dense enough to make all 100 levels and workshop published creations feel new.”
