Essentially a role-playing game wrapped around a space combat simulator, Freelancer feels like a fresh concept simply because we haven't seen this type of game in a while. Freelancer is a Science Fiction Shooter game set 800 years after humanity colonized the Sirius sector. Players can choose to follow a single-player campaign or engage in multiplayer, where they manage their own spaceship and resources while navigating conflicts, trade, and exploration in a vast, dynamic universe. Originally settled as refugees from a divided Earth, these colonies have grown and expanded, claiming territories and resources despite lurking dangers.
