18 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe gameplay has received mixed reviews, with some players enjoying the fun pinball mechanics and adorable visuals, while others criticize the fundamental design flaws, such as the inability to counter enemies effectively once off the paddles and a lack of variety in levels and enemies. The roguelite elements and upgrades feel insignificant, and the overall experience is described as short and lacking depth, leading to frustration rather than engagement.
“The art is adorable, the gameplay is super fun and, most importantly, it is a pinball game.”
“Fun take on pinball with some light RPG mechanics.”
“[somewhat enjoyable pinball gameplay that incorporates nifty elements, adorable visuals and animations, upgrades are rewarding to unlock]”
“The gameplay is my main gripe. The game is simple, giving you 2 paddles to hit your wizard around and bump into enemies to kill them for keys to move to the next floor. However, this entire concept is flawed by one major problem: once you're off the paddles, you can't really counter enemies. It does provide 2 power-ups with cooldowns to dash and hit enemies, but it does little to stop you from bouncing around. I managed to die in under a second by getting bounced off enemies, which also damage you when you hit them. The game really needed a parry or some control for the player to prevent being stuck and left for dead as they crash into things and die. The leveling and roguelite elements are largely insignificant to counter the major problem I mentioned. The variety is lacking, with every floor looking the same, only 3 enemy variants, and a boss that felt very basic. Overall, the game lacked spark, and I completed it in just 1 hour and 7 minutes on my first playthrough, which is very short for a concept that could've been a huge hit.”
“There are several mechanics that I could point to that very clearly show that the devs understood the game had a fundamental problem, but it's like putting a band-aid on a major wound.”
“These mechanics make playing the game like a pinball game way too risky.”
