About
"The Deer" is a first-person shooter game with three modes: Origins, Story, and Rudolph's Revenge. Origins mode places you in the role of a deer hunter trying to prevent a curse from taking over Grapeberry State Park, while Story mode follows a bigfoot hunter uncovering the truth about the park's closure. Rudolph's Revenge mode tasks you with saving Christmas from Rudolph's revenge. The game takes place in a highly detailed map inspired by the Colorado wilderness and features dynamic gameplay with changing spawns. Collectibles and multiple endings add replayability.

- The game offers a memorable gameplay experience with multiple endings, encouraging replayability.
- Despite its low price, the game provides a surprisingly engaging and spooky atmosphere.
- Smooth performance with high FPS and a variety of game modes enhances the overall experience.
- The graphics and collision detection are subpar, leading to immersion-breaking bugs and invisible barriers.
- The objectives are often unclear, leaving players confused about what to do next.
- The lack of a save system and multiplayer options makes the game feel limited and less enjoyable when played solo.

Overall, the story is seen as a mix of spooky elements and comedic failure, resulting in a "grade C horror" experience.
“Its suspenseful and what storyline that is there is very interesting, so props to the devs for making this. I'd definitely recommend playing through this as there are four different endings.”
“Add the obtuse story, and you have a grade C horror kind of game.”
“The whole plot of the story can be summed up as 'we are looking for Bigfoot and we are pretty bad at it.'”
“Story: simple and straightforward, but the game is more centered around spooky elements.”
