The game's story is characterized as lighthearted and humorous, featuring silly characters and comedic moments that can elicit laughs. However, many players find the narrative shallow and poorly paced, with a lack of meaningful character development and an abundance of filler content that detracts from the overall experience. While some appreciate the quirky premise and entertaining dialogue, others criticize the story for being overly simplistic and repetitive, ultimately making it difficult to recommend for those seeking a more engaging plot.
“The story is more funny than anything, and can be more easy-going but also a bit deeper at times.”
“This game has a pretty silly storyline, which is very lighthearted, and is filled to the brim with humour and cute characters.”
“Story is fantastic~ very easy to pick-up and get invested.”
“The fluff of the dialogue is so unbearable it's hard to follow what's happening with the plot because you are so inclined to skip it.”
“You meet all of the characters by the second dungeon, and they have no meaningful twists of personality or plot moments.”
“The story tries to get somewhere but is always interrupted by side characters that offer next to no support during your adventures.”

The gameplay is a mixed bag, featuring a lighthearted roguelike dungeon-crawling experience that can be both fun and frustrating. While the mechanics are somewhat forgiving and the story is entertaining, players often find the game repetitive, cutscene-heavy, and plagued by annoying mechanics such as limited inventory space and random difficulty spikes. Overall, it offers decent gameplay but lacks polish and innovation compared to other titles in the genre.
“A nice, lighthearted roguelike RPG in the style of the mystery dungeon games, with decent gameplay, good voice acting, and a hilarious cast of quirky characters.”
“One of the better Vita games which I never thought to play again. Basically, you explore randomly generated dungeons to search for items/ingredients. If you die, then all your items that you carry are gone, but if you escape or finish the dungeon, you can carry the items to be stored in town. The gameplay is light but complex enough to be fun. Also, the port is great in my opinion. No bugs and the controller works perfectly (I'm using a PS4 controller). Definitely worth checking out for the very friendly price.”
“Gameplay-wise, it's really fun, but it's quite RNG-heavy and you might end up dying to all kinds of random things or very silly mistakes.”
“Otherwise, the player can become easily frustrated by the underlying game mechanics.”
“Bosses die in 3 or 4 hits, there's very limited inventory space as you can never expand how much you can carry, 75% of the items you find (aside from weapons and armor) do absolutely nothing, and the gameplay gets interrupted every 3 floors you venture down by pointless storytime.”
“If you aren't buying it because you like the look of the characters and setting, don't expect the gameplay to thrill you -- it's a bit repetitive and really just serves to fill the space between story cutscenes, though it can be oddly satisfying in its own way.”

The humor in the game is generally well-received, characterized by a light-hearted and charming narrative filled with quirky characters and comedic scenes. While many players find the tongue-in-cheek humor and funny story appealing, some critiques mention that it can be hit-or-miss, with a few finding it annoying rather than entertaining. Overall, the humor effectively complements the gameplay, providing enjoyable moments between action sequences.
“The game's anime style art and tongue-in-cheek humor is, for me personally, very appealing and entertaining.”
“A nice, lighthearted roguelike RPG in the style of the mystery dungeon games, with decent gameplay, good voice acting, and a hilarious cast of quirky characters.”
“It's humor and plot are snipped into short scenes between gameplay, keeping you busy while progressing.”
“It's not funny and it's annoying.”

The music in the game receives mixed reviews, with many praising its quality, particularly the battle themes and vocal tracks, while others find it repetitive and occasionally annoying during certain gameplay moments. The catchy start screen music and enjoyable voice acting contribute positively to the overall experience, though some players note a lack of variety in the soundtrack and dungeon themes. Overall, the music is considered a strong point of the game, enhancing its charm despite some criticisms.
“This game has amazing music, especially battle flavor.”
“The music is exceptionally good; there are a lot of vocal songs and they all sound really good. My personal favorite is the town theme.”
“Also, the start screen music is so catchy.”
“The graphics are fine, though the music and sound effects are so-so, the former sounding like a poor man's Tenpei Sato (famed Nippon Ichi Software composer).”
“Music can get annoying at times, for example during monster house spawns.”
“The main issue with the game is its very lackluster - barely any different kinds of dungeons, music, and character progression.”

Players find the grinding aspect of the game to be excessively tedious and repetitive, particularly due to the challenging combat and the risk of losing progress in lengthy dungeons without the ability to save. The post-game content, featuring a daunting 256-floor mega dungeon, amplifies this grind, making it less enjoyable for those who prefer a more balanced gameplay experience. While some players appreciate grind-heavy games, the combination of difficulty and item loss detracts from the overall enjoyment.
“The dungeon crawler in itself is not that hard (although, most of the time you die at the last boss after 100 floors of pretty easy mobs, losing everything and getting back to square one), the issue is that the dungeon crawler is tedious!”
“Be careful, the post-game, with a final story bit unfortunately, is a 256 floor (!!! holy mackerel) mega dungeon that is even more tedious than it sounds.”
“I like me some grindfests from time to time, but when it's about grinding items with a chance to lose them (you can't save in the dungeons)... not really my thing.”
