The story in the game is described as somewhat fragmented, with lore primarily found in scattered notes, though the intro cutscene is noted as a highlight. While some players found the narrative engaging and appreciated the character development, others struggled to connect with the story due to challenging gameplay mechanics. Overall, the story is considered unique but overshadowed by the game's difficulty and graphics.
“But this game has a great deal placed on storyline and graphics, while the story is truly one of a kind; the graphics are like most games today, overpowering and GPU intensive.”
“Enoch is a good action RPG with an engaging story, satisfying character development and individualization possibilities, and the music and immersion will most likely last you at least a few days, so I can recommend it for anyone liking action RPGs.”
“We couldn't get into the story enough to see if there was one, and the combat system is tough.”
“There’s some lore and story in the game available in scattered notes you find throughout the levels.”
“I can't progress past a certain point: a room with 3 enemy humans in it, since they are too quick and you run out of stamina/health before you can kill more than one. It's not a glitch or anything; it's just that the game is too difficult. I love ARPGs and consider myself a pro at them, with probably 1000+ hours between Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, and Titan Quest in total.”

The gameplay is criticized for its lack of depth and engaging mechanics, with players noting the absence of a mini-map and leveling system as significant drawbacks. While some appreciate the game's concept and find it distinct from similar titles, many feel that the repetitive combat and overall execution leave it feeling uninspired and lacking in excitement.
“Cool concept and realistic gameplay!”
“I think the game has nice gameplay and I didn't feel it was a Diablo clone.”
“Overall, the game has a good idea, but it lacks in quite a few areas. The absence of a mini-map is one of my major issues. The lack of a leveling system just does not feel right, and the mechanics are a bit boring. You just wait for enemies to make three attacks, then you hit them and back off until they're dead. The same goes for the other enemies; you hit them, back off, hit them again, and so on. Even if there is no mini-map, at least they could provide a manual save. The graphics are okay but nothing special. Overall, the game feels soulless, and I can't get over the missing mini-map.”
“It feels like some mechanics are missing, which would actually make it a good game.”
