  • Engaging story with immersive music and atmosphere appealing to action RPG fans.
  • Unique and satisfying combat system with various fighting styles and responsive controls.
  • Good graphics quality and interesting level design for the genre.
  • No leveling or skill progression system, making the game very difficult and sometimes frustrating.
  • Lack of save points or manual saves forces restarting entire levels on death, which is tedious.
  • Game is unpolished with frequent crashes, poor AI behavior, repetitive and boring enemy encounters, and lack of loot drops.
  • story
    7 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The story in the game is somewhat scattered and not fully engaging for some players, with lore primarily found in notes scattered throughout levels and a strong intro cutscene. While the narrative is described as unique and complemented by decent voice acting and immersive elements, others find it overshadowed by difficult combat and pacing issues. Overall, the story appeals to fans of action RPGs who appreciate character development and immersion despite some frustration with game difficulty.

    • “But this game has a great deal placed on storyline and graphics; while the story is truly one of a kind, the graphics are like most games today, overpowering and GPU intensive.”
    • “Enoch is a good action RPG with an engaging story, satisfying character development and individualization possibilities. The music and immersion will most likely last you at least a few days, so I can recommend it for anyone liking action RPGs.”
    • “We couldn't get into the story enough to see if there was one, and the combat system is tough.”
    • “There’s some lore and story in the game available in scattered notes you find throughout the levels.”
    • “I can't progress past a certain point: a room with 3 enemy humans in it, since they are too quick and you run out of stamina/health before you can kill more than one. It's not a glitch, it's just that the game is too difficult. I gave up after dying more than 10 times at that location.”
  • graphics
    6 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The graphics are generally praised as good and visually appealing, with decent level design, but they are also noted to be GPU-intensive and sometimes require lowering settings for smooth performance. While visually engaging, the graphics aren't described as exceptional or innovative, contributing to mixed overall impressions.

    • “But this game has a great deal placed on storyline and graphics. While the story is truly one of a kind, the graphics are like most games today: overpowering and GPU intensive.”
    • “The game will give you replay value, great graphics (at a cost of your GPU), and surely the character advancements will help in this dark adventure.”
    • “Graphics are actually pretty nice and the level design is decent as well.”
    • “Had to dramatically reduce graphics to be able to not slideshow on stream.”
    • “The graphics are okay but nothing special.”
    • “That leads to questions about optimizing graphics and why it would cause issues.”
  • gameplay
    4 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The gameplay presents an interesting concept but is hindered by missing features such as a mini map and leveling system, which affect immersion and depth. Combat feels repetitive and lacks engaging mechanics, while the absence of manual saving further limits player control. Overall, the gameplay feels incomplete and somewhat soulless despite having potential.

    • “I think the game has nice gameplay and I didn't feel it was a Diablo clone.”
    • “Overall the game has a good idea, but lacks in quite a few places. The lack of a mini map is one of my biggest issues. No leveling system just does not feel right. The mechanics are a bit boring; you just wait until human adds make an action of three attacks, then you hit them and back off till they're dead. The same goes for the other adds: you hit them, back off, then hit them again and so on. Even if there is no mini map, at least they could give a manual save. The game overall feels soulless.”
    • “It feels like some mechanics are missing which would actually make it a good game.”
  • replayability
    2 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game offers limited replay value overall, though its character advancement system adds some incentive to revisit. High-quality graphics enhance the experience but may demand significant GPU resources.

    • “Not much replay value.”
  • optimization
    1 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Optimization is lacking, as the game experiences stuttering and performance issues even on medium settings, particularly due to lighting effects.

    • “It was also noticed that even on medium settings (where slideshows stopped), lighting caused stuttering in the game.”
  • grinding
    1 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Grinding in the game is considered tedious due to the large number of enemies and the time-consuming process required to clear levels.

    • “There’s a lot of enemies in the game and killing them takes a bit of time, so clearing a level is an utterly tedious process.”
  • character development
    1 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Character development in Enoch is praised for being satisfying and well-integrated, allowing for meaningful individualization that enhances the overall immersive experience.

    • “Enoch is a good action RPG with an engaging story, satisfying character development, and individualization possibilities. The music and immersion will most likely last you for at least a few days. I can recommend it for anyone liking action RPGs.”
  • music
    1 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The music in Enoch is immersive and enhances the overall experience, contributing to the game's lasting appeal for action RPG fans. It effectively complements the engaging story and character development.

    • “The music and immersion in Enoch will most likely last you at least a few days, making it a great experience for anyone liking action RPGs.”
