About
Skelattack is a single player platformer game. It was developed by Ukuza, Inc. and was released on June 2, 2020. It received mostly positive reviews from both critics and players.
Skelattack is a single-player platformer game with a fantastic story and great visuals. In this game, you play as Skully, a skeleton who must save the Underworld from an invasion of humans trying to kidnap the elder skeleton and steal the Blue Flame, the source of magic that keeps the Aftervale alive. Together with your bat friend Imber, you will jump, slash, and flap your way through the Underworld to stop them.

- Charming art style and humorous dialogue that adds personality to the characters and story.
- Generous checkpoints make the game forgiving despite its difficulty, allowing players to retry sections quickly.
- Unique movement mechanics and freedom of exploration provide a rewarding experience for players willing to experiment.
- Clunky controls, particularly the wall-jumping mechanic, can lead to frustrating gameplay experiences.
- Frequent instant-death traps can feel unfair, especially when combined with imprecise hitboxes.
- The game is short and lacks replay value, making the price feel steep for the content offered.

The game's story is a mix of heartfelt moments and humor, featuring a skeleton and his bat friend in a unique twist on traditional narratives. While some players found the story engaging and fun, others criticized it as predictable and lacking depth, with dialogue that can feel overly lengthy. Overall, the story adds charm to the gameplay experience, though opinions vary on its execution and impact.
“The story is very heartfelt and takes some turns that I don't think I've seen before.”
“A fantastic story of a skeleton protecting his undead home with an adorable bat.”
“The story is very nice and the dialogue between Skelly and his bat friend is hilarious.”
“Music is repetitive, gameplay uninteresting, story virtually nonexistent.”
“Then there's the story which is pretty bare bones and uninteresting.”
“The story was okay, maybe somewhat predictable, but I still found myself disinterested and skipping dialogue boxes that lasted too long because I just wanted to play the game.”
Skelattack Review – Dusty Old Bones
Skelattack is a charming but flawed platformer that, while fun at times, seems to be at odds with itself when it comes to difficulty in its platforming. While I think Skelattack has too many issues to be a great game necessarily, there’s a lot of potential here that I hope to see fully realized in the future.
