The graphics of the game have received mixed reviews, with many users criticizing the simplistic, cartoonish 2D visuals that resemble low-effort mobile apps, and noting a lack of resolution options and graphical tweaks. While some players appreciate the charming aesthetics and find them adequate for gameplay, others feel the graphics are underdeveloped and reminiscent of outdated styles, failing to meet the expectations of PC gamers accustomed to higher-quality visuals. Overall, the graphics are seen as a significant drawback, lacking the polish and depth that could elevate the game's appeal.
“Charming visuals.”
“Ok, brass tacks time, the graphics are good and do their job well, and at times I felt like I was playing 'The Binding of Isaac' as it resembles this game in both graphics and play style. The sound in-game does its job well with all the creatures you face making their own beastly noises.”
“Great little game, I love the graphics and the gameplay. Don't understand the moaning about the price; well worth it in my book.”
“There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks.”
“The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low-effort mobile apps.”
“Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing.”

The gameplay is characterized by simplistic mechanics and a lack of challenge, leading to low replayability and a sense of boredom. While it features a wave shooter format with various weapons and items, the overall experience feels generic and unrefined, with some players appreciating its charm despite its shortcomings. The game can be completed quickly, and while it has moments of fun, it ultimately fails to stand out in a crowded genre.
“The gameplay is actually not an Isaac clone though - it's a Smash TV/Robotron type wave shooter.”
“Gameplay-wise, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree - instead of walking through the rooms we go lower and lower to individual arenas - in which monsters come out of the walls and we have to defeat them - there are buffs, items, and ammunition/grenades scattered around the room, which are supposed to help us clear the arena.”
“The mechanics are solid in this game and it has enough weapons and spells to keep you interested throughout the game.”
“The game mechanics are boring and basically just spits out a random number of enemies at you.”
“It has really, really low replayability, not enough challenge to keep entertaining and no variety to substitute the challenge / save the game simplistic gameplay.”
“Overall, the gameplay falls short and feels very bland - you start off with a sword and crossbow, and certain levels have more weapons like a pistol, shotgun, minigun, etc. these are miss-able, and a few appear in the bonus levels where you must kill chickens for a higher score and some gold drops.”

The music in the game features a mix of shop and world theme songs that can become overwhelming when played simultaneously. While some players appreciate the overall sound design, others find it decent but quickly annoying, with a shift from chiptune to a more modern, less favorable soundscape.
“That being said, I did like the music overall.”
“The game trades in a retro art style for more flash-based graphics and chiptune music for a downright hokey soundscape.”
“At the shopkeeper, both the shop song and the world theme song are played at the same time!”
“The music and sounds are decent, but get annoying fairly quickly.”
“Of course, the more recent release also means that the game trades in a retro art style for more flash-based graphics and chiptune music for a downright hokey soundscape.”
