  • Offers a low-pressure, exploratory experience that some players find charming and strangely satisfying.
  • Extremely limited content with only one small area accessible and most features blocked as 'not available in alpha'.

  • Developer abandoned the game years ago with no meaningful updates, making it an incomplete, unpolished prototype.
  • gameplay
    59 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Gameplay in this title is highly divisive, with some appreciating its imaginative, atmospheric approach and simple RPG-adventure blend, while many criticize it for lacking meaningful mechanics, objectives, and overall engagement. Several reviews highlight its unfinished state, minimal content, and technical issues, suggesting it offers little traditional gameplay and may frustrate those seeking a complete or mechanically rich experience. Overall, it feels more like an early access experiment or concept than a fully developed game.

    • “If you’re looking for something that balances comfort with challenge, familiar mechanics with fresh touches, and a world that’s just fun to be in, then I genuinely think this one is worth giving a shot.”
    • “The gameplay is fresh and very different from most.”
    • “The gameplay is brilliant.”
    • “No story, no objectives, no gameplay either, unless you count aimlessly walking around a small map.”
    • “While I understand that the purpose of early access is specifically to help developers fund and shape their products, this item has no business being on the Steam store in its current state as there is absolutely zero meaningful gameplay or exploration possible and the devs appear to either no longer be producing it or simply not updating the Steam version or its news page.”
    • “Nothing in this game works: the level is limited to pretty much what you can see, glitchy, stupid short track that repeats, horrible graphics, no story or gameplay at all really.”
  • story
    56 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The story received mixed feedback, with some praising its whimsical, deep, and emotionally engaging narrative featuring fantastical worlds and unique characters, while others criticized it for being minimal, vague, underdeveloped, or nearly nonexistent. Many users highlighted exploration and atmosphere over traditional plot, noting that the story often unfolds indirectly or feels incomplete. Overall, the narrative shows promise but is considered shallow or lacking by a significant portion of players.

    • “The world Mary finds herself in is deliberately whimsical, filled with oversized objects, unusual creatures, druids, and fantastical landmarks that suggest a storybook universe rather than a grounded fantasy setting.”
    • “The interaction between the girl and the alien man is tremendously deep, and I can't wait to see how it develops as the developers continue to program more to make the story more complex a la Dark Souls 2.”
    • “You must quest to find the portal back to her world, encountering hardships, opposition, and even friends in the form of your mysterious salesman friend who appears all across the world and bears a striking resemblance to Aquarius.”
    • “No story, no objectives, no gameplay either, unless you count aimlessly walking around a small map.”
    • “This isn't even a game... there's no story.. no tutorial.. no objective.. nothing.”
    • “The game often feels like a prologue to a much larger story that never fully materializes.”
  • graphics
    54 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's graphics receive highly mixed feedback, praised by some for their unique, bright, and vibrant indie art style that immerses players in a distinct world, while others criticize them as unpolished, glitchy, and low quality with technical shortcomings. Overall, the visuals are seen as a bold, unconventional aesthetic that may appeal to fans of artistic experimentation but fall short in polish and refinement expected from finished titles.

    • “Amazing graphics, storyline and mechanics, paired with an original folk jam soundtrack places this game in the history books.”
    • “Super colourful and vibrant graphics, I love the art style.”
    • “Every part of the game — the visuals, the sound, the pacing — kind of blends into this feeling that you’re actually inside its world, even if you’re just casually playing.”
    • “Unfinished game with unpolished psychedelic graphics.”
    • “The graphics are atrocious and the controls are just as bad.”
    • “Nothing in this game works, the level is limited to pretty much what you can see, glitchy, stupid short track that repeats, horrible graphics, no story or gameplay at all really.”
  • music
    51 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The music in the game is often described as folk-inspired, relaxing, and fitting the fantasy atmosphere, with some praising its originality and peaceful vibe. However, many users find the soundtrack repetitive, overlooping, and sometimes annoying due to lack of volume controls or variety. Overall, the music is a highlight for some but a point of frustration for others due to its redundancy and intrusive presence.

    • “Sound design and music support the fantasy atmosphere with gentle, folk-inspired tones that suit the game’s relaxed pacing.”
    • “Amazing graphics, storyline and mechanics, paired with an original folk jam soundtrack places this game in the history books.”
    • “This is a great game for me, I love the colourful environment and immersive soundtrack.”
    • “There's no hope for this game being updated on Steam. The music gets loud and annoying, and overall, something very unacceptable that shouldn't be marketed as a game in its current state.”
    • “There is no settings or anything, so it just blasts horrible music in your ears to where you are unable to hear yourself think.”
    • “The looping music is dreadful and the controls are stuttery and horrendous.”
  • humor
    11 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The humor in the game is largely unintentional, stemming from its numerous bugs, glitches, and overall poor quality, which many players find amusingly bad. While some enjoy laughing at the game's flaws and funny moments, others criticize it harshly, though the comedic aspect remains a notable part of the experience.

    • “One of the most buggy things I've seen in this game is the jumping, which I also found hilarious.”
    • “This game is a perfect example of hilariously bad, but hey, cheap trading cards.”
    • “It's quite funny to play.”
  • emotional
    6 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's emotional core, centered on a child escaping conflict through fantasy, has strong potential but lacks deep exploration and development. Despite this, memorable characters and poignant moments succeed in evoking genuine feelings, including tears and a sense of personal uplift. However, some feel the emotional depth is underutilized by the developer.

    • “The emotional hook of a child escaping into a fantasy world after conflict at home is relatable and potentially powerful, although it is not deeply explored through dialogue or character development.”
    • “Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake.”
    • “The characters are amazing; how can you forget the purple alien and the girl? The story between those two is heart-wrenching.”
  • optimization
    6 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's optimization is inconsistent, running smoothly on above-average settings with a good graphics card and sufficient RAM, but causing significant lag and performance issues even on powerful PCs. Several reviewers highlight extremely poor optimization as a major drawback.

    • “Performance has been mostly fine.”
    • “The game runs smoothly on above average settings with a good graphics card and a decent amount of RAM.”
    • “I am not sure if they were going for the sensationalism of YouTube personalities making a review of another 'bad Steam indie game' or what, but there were some elements in this game (namely how relatively easy it is to glitch jump out of the map as well as the very, very terrible optimization) that were inexcusable in my opinion.”
    • “Extremely poor optimization.”
    • “Unoptimized.”
  • atmosphere
    5 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's atmosphere is highly praised for its imaginative and immersive quality, enhanced by gentle, folk-inspired music and sound design that complement its relaxed pacing. Players find the mood captivating and transporting, creating a memorable and otherworldly experience.

    • “This premise sets the tone for an experience that prioritizes imagination and atmosphere over structure and mechanical depth.”
    • “Sound design and music support the fantasy atmosphere with gentle, folk-inspired tones that suit the game’s relaxed pacing.”
    • “The first thing I noticed is the atmosphere.”
  • stability
    5 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's stability is poor, featuring frequent strange freezes and numerous bugs, particularly in movement mechanics like walking and jumping. While the framerate remains stable at 60 FPS, the overall experience is marred by unfinished, glitchy, and poorly crafted elements. Some players find humor in the glitches, but stability issues significantly impact gameplay quality.

    • “Buggy unfinished abandonware.”
    • “Framerate constantly at 60 but strange freezes frequently.”
    • “At best it's the buggy, poorly crafted starting area for the first level of a game.”
  • grinding
    4 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Grinding in this game is heavily criticized for being excessively time-consuming and seemingly designed to promote card farming, leading to a frustrating and unrewarding experience. Players advise avoiding the game unless obtaining it very cheaply for card farming purposes.

    • “Either it was developed to make money off card farming, or the developers saw how badly received it was and decided to cut their very minimal losses.”
    • “Avoid at all costs, these scammers don't deserve even the discounted price for card farming.”
    • “3+ hours of card farming for only 3 cards was a waste of electricity.”
  • character development
    2 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Character development receives mixed feedback: while the concept of a child escaping into a fantasy world offers emotional potential, it lacks depth and exploration through dialogue. However, some find the character progression mechanics engaging and impactful.

    • “The character development is powerful.”
    • “The emotional hook of a child escaping into a fantasy world after conflict at home is relatable and potentially powerful, but it is not deeply explored through dialogue or character development.”
  • monetization
    2 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The monetization in this game feels intrusive and suggests a lack of developer commitment, with some users viewing it as a cash grab rather than a thoughtfully integrated feature.

    • “Developer clearly abandoned this game and used it as a cash grab.”
  • replayability
    1 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game is highly praised for its exceptional replayability, offering a smooth, glitch-free experience that encourages multiple playthroughs.
