- gameplay91 mentions Positive Neutral Negative
The gameplay is characterized by a mix of simplicity and strategy, featuring a build-your-own dungeon mechanic that adds a unique twist. While some players appreciate the fun and addictive nature of the mechanics, many criticize the repetitive and slow-paced gameplay, lack of depth, and minimal story engagement. Overall, it offers solid value for its price, appealing primarily to those who enjoy straightforward, turn-based dungeon exploration despite its shortcomings.
“The gameplay is simple enough to be easy to learn but challenging enough to keep it interesting.”
“The challenge factor of the dungeons gradually increases with different mobs and various mechanics that kept me playing for 'just one more dungeon'.”
“I've had a ton of fun with dungeon rushers so far, I love the gameplay and the simple, yet interesting skill trees.”
“Unfortunately, what appreciation the player develops gets smothered under a morass of clunky, awkward gameplay that recycles itself all too quickly, and breaks the immersion that the developers are obviously trying for before it can really take hold.”
“Mediocre, uninspired gameplay may have been redeemed by likable characters and engaging story, but there is none of that to be found here.”
“The gameplay is repetitive, the soundtrack is boring, and the jokes are not funny.”
Dungeon Rushers Review
Forcing players to replay dungeons so early on impeded my progress, and ultimately deterred me from playing further. It just seems to me that the developers missed the point with their own hero-parody style and missed an opportunity. If it was a short dungeon crawler, it wouldn’t really be in the same genre, but more enjoyment could be had if I could actually progress through the game.

Dungeon Rushers may evoke fond memories of the Hero Quest board game but it doesn’t manage to be anywhere near as involving. Still when things are going right it’s a hugely addictive game, with simple gameplay based around risk and reward and some tremendously entertaining dialogue. Nevertheless the story is non-existent, the gameplay basic and repetitious, and nearly every stage you’ll be forced to replay old dungeons to grind your characters up a level. The level editor is the surprising highlight, and we actually found it more fun to make dungeons than play them.
