About
Action Legion is a single-player war game for PC and Mac, with mouse-controlled combat reminiscent of Cannon Fodder. As a Legion Captain, you must battle through waves of enemies and destroy structures to defeat the Prognati, who have taken over the peaceful planet PN MDCVIII and enslaved its inhabitants. Your mission is to restore the planet to its former paradise state by eliminating the Prognati menace.

- Fun and fast-paced gameplay with well-designed levels that provide a variety of tactical challenges.
- The game features a good learning curve, allowing players to improve their skills and replay missions without penalty.
- Visually appealing graphics and a solid soundtrack enhance the overall experience.
- Limited weapon selection and auto-leveling of soldiers reduce customization and strategic depth.
- Controls can be frustrating, with a tendency for mis-clicks leading to team deaths and a lack of clarity in soldier promotions.
- Some missions can feel unfairly difficult, and the game lacks a solid reward system, leading to repetitive gameplay.
story
58 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe game's story is primarily conveyed through quick-fire missions that focus on eliminating enemies, with a simplistic narrative that lacks depth. Players can collect intel to unlock comic-style backstory elements, but the overall plot is considered underwhelming and repetitive, with some missions feeling unfairly challenging. While the mission design is varied and allows for replayability, the lack of a solid reward system detracts from the overall engagement with the story.
“Quality cartoon art carrying the storyline is a nice addition.”
“I think I'm about halfway through, and although it's simple, it has been fun and rewarding with each mission completed.”
“It gets a bit repetitive after a while mainly because the game lacks a solid reward system, and the story isn't anything to get hyped about.”
“Some missions are a bit unfair as you die in 1-2 hits and enemies are able to shoot you from a very long distance (especially snipers) while your bullets don't travel as far.”
“As you collect 'intel' you get to see parts of the backstory and lore in graphic novel form, which is nice... I just am having trouble determining which order they go in!”
