"Super Mario Kart" is a fantasy arcade-style racing game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and the first installment in the Mario Kart series. The game, based on the Super Mario World theme, allows for single-player, local multi-player, and split-screen play with up to two players. Using Mode 7 scaling, players collect coins to boost speed and use shells and bananas to hindered opponents on the track.
