Rock Band 2 is a musical simulation game that allows 2-4 players to play together as a band, with improved drum and guitar controllers that include new features like fast fingertapping and effect switching. The game features local multi-player and co-op modes, as well as single-player, with gameplay that involves matching notes and lyrics displayed on screen, competing with Guitar Hero: World Tour. Playable instruments include lead guitar, bass guitar, microphone, and drum set.
