The game's story is characterized by a cheesy yet engaging plot that unfolds across 30 unique missions divided between two factions, each offering distinct gameplay styles and objectives. Players must strategize to overcome challenging puzzles, with mission success influenced by performance metrics and resource management, making each playthrough rewarding and varied. While the narrative may not be groundbreaking, the diverse mission designs and the need for critical planning enhance the overall experience.
“The plot is cheesy but fresh.”
“Many of the missions do not have a simple 'kill the enemy' objective, and if they do, it will be behind a unique circumstance.”
“Every one of the 31 missions of the solo campaign is kind of a puzzle on its own; figuring out a working strategy may take some time, but is all the more rewarding after all!”

The gameplay is characterized by engaging puzzle-like mechanics where players must strategically build and deploy robots with limited resources to destroy enemy bases, often facing multiple opponents. The inclusion of alien boosters adds an exciting twist, enhancing robot capabilities and creating memorable missions that challenge players' planning and execution skills. Overall, the combination of unique robot-building elements and dynamic level design makes for an addictive and nostalgic experience.
“With its engaging gameplay, colorful graphics, and addictive robot battles, this game never fails to bring back nostalgic memories.”
“Unique robot building mechanics, outstanding level design, definitely worth playing.”
“As for the gameplay, the best way to describe it is that every stage is a puzzle. You are given very limited credits to produce robots, and if they get destroyed, you get a full refund back to your base (as long as you still have it). Every mission's goal is to destroy the enemy's base, which has three energy levels, and sometimes you are even pitted against two enemy players. Critical planning and choosing the proper stasis, boosters, and robots is the key to victory for every stage.”
“The gameplay is like a mix between puzzle and some old antiquated kind of RTS.”
“Some of the missions are really great and fun, though, as they introduce another element to the gameplay with three types of alien boosters randomly placed in some stages. These include the alien weapon booster, alien speed booster, and alien defense booster, which completely overhaul your robot and give it godly capabilities. For instance, the alien speed booster makes your robot run at light speed, leaving after-images. This leads to some of my favorite missions, like one where you only produce one robot to defeat an entire army and a base, but there's a twist: in that stage, there are also three alien boosters you can acquire, making you feel like a god against the peasants.”

The game's graphics evoke nostalgia with colorful visuals reminiscent of the 90s, but they are considered dated by modern standards. Players have reported technical issues, such as graphical glitches when alt-tabbing, which detract from the overall experience. While the textures were impressive for their time, the game's age is evident, impacting its appeal to contemporary audiences.
“With its engaging gameplay, colorful graphics, and addictive robot battles, this game never fails to bring back nostalgic memories.”
“The textures were very good for its time; if you get nostalgic over those old Doom graphics, there might be something for you here.”
“Final verdict: I can see that the game hasn't aged well because of the graphics (well, the game did come out in the 90s), but once you figure out the right strategy, there are at least 10 different ways to complete a mission.”
“Of course, if you can get past the dated graphics.”
“It is such an old game, and the only reason I bought it was because of nostalgia. I'm saying that because you can't even alt+tab from this game without ruining the whole graphics/interface; it ruins the color, resolution, and the game colors get inverted or whatnot, and then it can't be fixed unless you restart the game.”
“Final verdict: I can see that the game hasn't aged well because of the graphics (well, the game did come out in the 90s) and how difficult each stage is, but once you figure out the right strategy, believe me, there are at least 10 different ways to complete a mission. A mission can take as long as 1 hour, or the same mission with the right units and chassis can take just less than 10 minutes, and which is where all the fun lies in.”

The music in the game receives mixed reviews; some praise the soundtrack for its atmospheric and inspirational qualities, while others criticize it for lacking a cohesive score, instead featuring unsettling ambient sounds and noises that detract from the experience. Additionally, there are complaints about the absence of a proper soundtrack in the digital version, leading to frustration among players.
“The soundtrack is perhaps what stands out the most to me; it fits the atmosphere of the game well and is well ahead of its time, inspirational even.”
“I'm not even sure I'd say this game has a soundtrack; yeah, there's some techno in there, but for the most part, the music consists of these disturbing noises: a metal door slamming shut in the distance, some alien skittering sound, and a lot of deep space noises and humming in an otherwise eerie silence.”
“You can get the audio back (I'm told) if you put in a disk copy of the game that has the music on it, but honestly, this is fraudulent business.”
