Pneumata takes inspiration from Resident Evil but completely forgets what makes these games entertaining. While it initially showed potential, this bloated survival horror is immensely unfun.
"Pneumata" is a psychological horror game that challenges players to uncover the truth behind mysterious disappearances in an apartment building while dealing with cosmic horror that blurs the line between reality and alternate worlds. As a detective, you must scavenge for weapons, supplies, and evidence to solve gruesome murders, all while evading the diverse AI-controlled enemies lurking in the shadows. The game's immersive environment and chilling atmosphere will leave even seasoned horror players questioning their sanity.

The graphics of the game received mixed reviews; while some players praised the visuals as "insanely nice" and fitting for a horror experience, others found them to be merely average, with poorly detailed textures and overly dark environments that hindered visibility. Overall, the consensus suggests that while the graphics can enhance the gameplay, they are not groundbreaking and may require adjustments for optimal performance.
“Overall, a hell of an amazing horror game experience with a lot of action, insanely nice graphics, and super fun gameplay.”
“I think the graphics and visuals were okay, nothing extraordinary or next-gen, but the problem was most of the areas were too dark to notice any details. There were many objects with very poor quality textures in the game, like keypads for example, and many other surfaces.”

Pneumata Review – Gutter Island

20%Pneumata Review (PS5)
Pneumata is a survival horror game that offers a unique blend of exploration and tension, inspired by classics like Resident Evil and Outlast. It's certainly an impressive feat being created by a single person, but it does result in a lack of polish like we're used to in the AA and AAA space. Animations are a bit stiff, and the dumb AI can lead to frustrating combat moments. The good news is that despite these shortcomings, the excellent atmosphere and compelling story were reason enough to see this game all the way to its dramatic conclusion.
