About
Optika is a puzzle game where players control light using 14 different optical devices to solve levels. The goal is to guide the right color of light to receivers through the use of lenses, mirrors, and prisms across 160 levels. Inspired by real-world physics, players can experiment with lasers, magnets, and other optical devices while exploring the world of Optika with Professor Opticus and his assistant Sofia.

- Good visuals with colorful and vibrant light effects.
- Innovative gameplay mechanics that allow for creative problem-solving.
- Relaxing experience with a satisfying sound design and a well-thought-out tutorial.
- Broken Steam achievements and lack of cloud saving.
- Inconsistent puzzle difficulty, with some levels being too easy and others frustratingly hard.
- Poor level design and unrealistic physics mechanics that detract from the overall experience.
gameplay
12 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe gameplay is centered around teaching the physics of light and its interactions, featuring solid mechanics and a variety of levels that keep players engaged. However, the puzzles can be overly simplistic and lack depth, with some players finding the controls a bit finicky. Overall, while the game offers interesting mechanics and a visually appealing experience, it falls short in providing challenging and well-designed puzzles.
“This game teaches the physics of light particles (protons), their behavior in magnetic fields, and the mechanics of mirrors and lenses better than some physics teachers I had in high school.”
“There are a lot of levels to get through, and while the mechanics are quite simple and limited, I can't say I was particularly bored for the few hours of active play I put in.”
“The gameplay mechanics are interesting, albeit not well explained by the tutorial.”
“Solid mechanics like white light will be split into red, green, and blue at different angles, but it's a bit fiddly to hit everything correctly, so you have to adjust it pixel-perfect to finish the level.”
“Gorgeous looking game with interesting game mechanics but really lacking in good puzzle designs.”
“There's a lot of levels here, but the game is unfortunately easy and doesn't demand that you understand its mechanics completely in order to complete the puzzles.”
