The graphics in many reviewed games vary significantly, with some titles featuring mediocre visuals and others praised for their unique art styles, such as blocky designs. While some players appreciate simple graphics that suit the gameplay, others criticize the lack of polish and originality, leading to a prevalence of poorly executed visuals. Overall, the consensus suggests that while graphics can enhance a game, they are not the sole determinant of its success.
“The artwork is fantastic, sound design is great, but, unfortunately, the game isn't really polished.”
“Great graphics.”
“Graphics is made really simple, but this is not a kind of game where we really need lots of complicated graphics - I recommend for those who like to play rogue-like games.”
“Developers must learn that Minecraft succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them.”
“The game looks mediocre, but the visuals are not the biggest problem since the gameplay is even worse; it feels like it's not working the way it should.”
“The graphics and music are passable, not really a big deal either way, but the gameplay is not very good.”

The gameplay is heavily criticized for being boring, repetitive, and poorly executed, with clunky movement and combat mechanics that detract from the overall experience. Players find the randomized dungeon exploration lacks excitement, and the visuals and music do little to enhance the gameplay. Overall, the game fails to deliver engaging mechanics, leading to a frustrating and unfulfilling experience.
“It plays like The Binding of Isaac - that is essentially the gameplay loop here - you start in a dungeon with basic equipment and progress through randomized rooms, mostly killing monsters before they kill you, while hoping to stumble across a shopkeeper to upgrade or buy a new weapon, thus making yourself stronger and so on, until you reach different bosses.”
“A lot of amateur developers see Minecraft's success and assume it's because it looks bad, not because it had unique and appealing game mechanics, and they try to emulate the success without understanding it.”
“Neverend at least pretends to have a story, even if it isn’t reflected in the gameplay at all.”
“The game looks mediocre, but the visuals are not the biggest problem since the gameplay is even worse; it feels like it's not working the way it should.”
“This game is 'difficult' only because the combat and movement mechanics are so poor.”
“I don’t know what anyone expected of a game with endless boring gray rooms and sticky combat and an actual grind at the heart of its gameplay, but I can tell you it isn’t any kind of good.”

The music in the game has been widely criticized for being repetitive and unengaging, with many players finding it annoying and quickly tiresome. While some found it initially relaxing, the overall consensus is that the soundtrack detracts from the gaming experience rather than enhancing it.
“I relaxed for 5 minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.”
“The soundtrack gets really old really quick.”
“The only thing I didn't like is the music.”
“This is a boring game, with bad controls, annoying music, and stiff attack.”

The game's story conveys a moral about perseverance and the unpredictability of life, but it suffers from a lack of coherent plot and level design, relying instead on repetitive procedural generation. While it attempts to present a narrative, this is not effectively integrated into the gameplay, leaving players with a sense of disconnection from the story. Overall, the storytelling feels superficial and underdeveloped compared to other titles in the genre.
“Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today.”
“The game features no proper level design or game/story flow/plot, as they opted to try to use samey repetitive procedural generation algorithms as a substitute for adding such content to the game, to avoid doing the important job of level/map design.”
“Neverend at least pretends to have a story, even if it isn’t reflected in the gameplay at all.”
“Just like Binding of Isaac but without story and costs 2 €.”

The monetization of Neverend is criticized as exploitative, with the game perceived as a low-effort cash grab that relies on misleading marketing and fake reviews to drive sales. Users express concern over the game's quality and the prevalence of fraudulent accounts promoting it, suggesting a lack of integrity in its release strategy.
“Neverend is an extremely poorly made shovelware low poly/voxel/minecraft looking 'dungeon crawler' with incredibly shallow RPG elements that looks and feels a lot like a lazy cash grab dumped on Steam to try to make gaming worse for people in exchange for a few bucks.”
“They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams.”
