The gameplay is characterized as a casual action sidescroller metroidvania, appealing to fans of the genre but noted for its lenient difficulty. While the boss fights are well-designed and feature unique mechanics, they are not overly challenging, allowing players to focus more on the narrative and character development. Overall, the gameplay is considered fair to above average.

The story is set on a "waifu island" where the player, the only male character, explores ancient ruins with minimal context or explanation regarding their significance. While there is a fair amount of voice acting, many reviewers find the narrative and dialogues lacking depth, character development, and a compelling plot arc, resulting in a sense of stagnation.
“The story takes place on Waifu Island, where men are non-existent, and you, the only male, explore ancient ruins. However, there isn't much explanation regarding the purpose of these ruins or the overall narrative.”
“I'm more interested in context, character development, and story building, including the plot arc and gameplay mechanics.”
