About
"BioCrisis" is a 20XX set first-person shooter with a "light-gun" style experience and 16-color pixel art graphics. In the game, players must quickly shoot their way through a lab infected with a deadly virus, all while managing their health and ammo. The game features a full action experience, complete with a score system and music/SFX by Mathusalemherod, designed to evoke the spirit of the Atari 520-st.

- Fun and addictive arcade-style gameplay that captures the essence of classic light gun shooters.
- Great pixel art and sound design, creating a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of 90s arcade games.
- Very cheap for the amount of enjoyment it provides, making it a worthwhile experience for casual gamers.
- Extremely short playtime, with many players completing the game in under 15 minutes, leading to concerns about value.
- Limited content and variety, with only one level and minimal enemy types, which can make the gameplay feel repetitive.
- Frustrating mechanics, such as the inability to reload until the magazine is empty, which can lead to unfair difficulty spikes.
gameplay
7 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe gameplay is characterized by simple mechanics that provide initial enjoyment, but it quickly becomes repetitive and lacks depth, with many players reporting a maximum playtime of around 20 minutes. The absence of varied stages, enemy types, and difficulty options contributes to a sense of stagnation, making it difficult to recommend despite its low price. Overall, while it may offer brief fun, the gameplay experience is ultimately limited and fails to sustain long-term engagement.
“The simple mechanics it offers are good and enjoyable, and serve their purpose for this single-screen arcade game.”
“The zombies and targets start moving at a consistent rate, allowing you to get a feel for the gameplay, but after throwing a grenade or killing zombies too quickly, they'll start to move at a different rate along each row.”
“If it had several stages and enemy types, and well, anything at all to vary the simplistic gameplay a bit, perhaps it could be something worth recommending.”
“Just check the gameplay time of people who gave it positive reviews; it's usually about 20 minutes max. Granted, it's cheap, but it gets old after 10 minutes, and no amount of retro nostalgia can justify such a stump of a game, sorry.”
“For gameplay options, it would be nice if there was a difficulty selection, which would limit the enemy speed at the beginning.”
