The gameplay of the game has received mixed reviews, with many players criticizing its mechanics as broken and unresponsive, leading to frustrating experiences. While some appreciate the potential and interesting concepts, others find the lack of clear instructions and the overall execution lacking, resulting in a gameplay experience that feels incomplete and often tedious. Despite its promising visuals and some engaging mechanics, the game is seen as needing significant improvements to reach its full potential.
“Not much is known about the story, but the gameplay and concepts are really interesting and bring a lot to the table.”
“Gameplay mechanics such as building and combat are fluid and difficult enough to provide a challenge, not a headache.”
“It wasn't amazing or revolutionary, but it was a new concept with pretty good graphics, a fun gameplay loop, and good polish.”
“Nearly 5 years into early access development with what appears to be either development hell or abandonment since July 2018, this is not worth your money unless you'd like to see some concepts from the game and break them down as game mechanics to study.”
“I can't get past the tutorial because the game mechanics are basically broken.”
“I've played many survival games and I am myself a developer, but I really didn't enjoy this experience. I can see with a lot of work it could be made to have some potential, but the gameplay and the controls felt slow and unresponsive. It seemed I was walking slower and slower until I was 'running' at less than 0.005 mph, effectively meaning I couldn't move; your sprint doesn't recharge and you are left standing until someone kills you.”

“The backstory and lore for this game is very good and immersive; I feel that the developer should emphasize more on that.”
“It would be amazing to have this expand and become one huge wasteland with a story and plot.”
“This game has no story.”
“There is no story; you have to type to hack things, and the menu is a mess.”

The graphics of the game receive mixed reviews, with some players criticizing them as outdated and poorly optimized, while others appreciate the aesthetic and visual design, particularly for a game developed by a single person. Many users note that while the graphics are not revolutionary, they are decent and contribute positively to the game's atmosphere, especially in a post-apocalyptic setting. Overall, there is a consensus that improvements are needed, but the visuals have potential and can be enjoyable under the right conditions.
“For graphics like this to be from the Unity engine, absolutely amazing.”
“The game's visuals were beautiful and captured the aesthetic of a cold, lonely wasteland well and without any FPS drops or crashing on maximum settings.”
“All in all, I give the fifth day a 10/10 for breathtaking visuals and atmosphere, no bugs or glitches, well-designed building and gunplay mechanics, interesting and new hostile enemies, low hardware requirements, and low price.”
“The graphics are beyond bad; I am not sure what the whole grainy screen view is, but it's beyond bad.”
“Has dated graphics, stupid one-hit-kill robots, and hunters which always seem to know where you are.”
“I've also seen reviews about the graphics and gameplay saying they have not received any updates or improvements.”

The game's stability is heavily criticized, with numerous reports of glitches, bugs, and poor optimization leading to significant lag and crashes. While some users acknowledge that it is still in early access and may improve, many express frustration over the lack of updates and the game's current unplayable state. Overall, the consensus is that the game is too buggy to recommend at this time.
“I prefer the fifth day's building more because it has no glitches with the terrain and offers more templates to produce complex structures.”
“There are huge amounts of glitches, bugs, horrible optimization, and there will be a lot of lag and stutter.”
“At the moment, I wouldn't recommend buying it because there are still a lot of glitches throughout the game.”
“The game is unplayable as it stands (not even counting the goals) and delivers are worlds apart. Before someone points out that it is in alpha, know it has been in development for a long time and the game is so buggy it is unplayable and lacks content.”

Overall, the game's optimization has received largely negative feedback, with many users reporting significant glitches, bugs, and performance issues such as lag and stuttering. While some players noted improvements in certain areas, the consensus is that the game remains poorly optimized, particularly in terms of frame rates and graphical performance. Despite some enhancements, many feel that the optimization still requires substantial work, especially for an early access title.
“The AI has become a million times better, the game has become more optimized, crafting systems have been overhauled, and content has been added.”
“As for the graphics and optimization, yes, they can use some tweaking, but they have been tweaked already.”
“Runs smoothly on my laptop.”
“There are huge amounts of glitches, bugs, horrible optimization, and there will be a lot of lag and stutter.”
“The tutorial is awful at teaching you anything, and the game is horribly optimized.”

The atmosphere of the game is described as unique and immersive, featuring a creepy, abandoned feel enhanced by heavy earth tones and dense forests. While many players appreciate the visuals and the potential for a rich environment, some find it lacking in depth and engagement, particularly in its current unfinished state. Overall, the atmosphere is praised for its creativity and potential, especially in urban settings, but it also faces criticism for moments of emptiness and monotony.
“It has a unique atmosphere that I appreciate; I would love to see this game finished someday.”
“The heavy earth tones and dense, dead forests really give this game an abandoned atmosphere.”
“The base building is highly enjoyable, the atmosphere is absolutely incredible (especially in urban areas!), the AI is very good, the loot system is amazing, and the unique tools and weapons are phenomenal.”
“The atmosphere really has a stalker feel to it. I love building your own guns and tools, melee weapons and such. I love the idea of this game, but it is just way too unfinished and has an empty feeling. At times, it takes so long to get hunters so you can shoot at something, and it will either be them kicking your ass because of their wonky aim or you instantly killing them.”
“The atmosphere is creepy in a deserted, washed-out kind of way, but quickly got boring to me.”

The monetization aspect of the game has been widely criticized as a blatant cash grab, with many users expressing disappointment over the lack of meaningful updates and support from the developers. While some players were willing to purchase the game during sales, they feel that the overall experience is marred by the perception of greed and unfinished product quality. Concerns about potential future microtransactions further exacerbate the sentiment that the game prioritizes profit over player satisfaction.
“As long as no microtransactions are added for cosmetics or overpowered guns (pointing at you, Red Crucible), I see no problem for this game to become a great title, even if it takes 1-3 months per update.”
“It was most certainly a cash grab and run game.”
“This is just a cash grab by the developers, since development is dead by now.”
“Yet another cash grab by greedy devs that have no intent in putting out a finished product.”

“"Go on, take the money and run" was the soundtrack the developer must have listened to on a loop non-stop while making this game.”
“The soundtrack the developer must have listened to on a loop non-stop while making this game is 'Go on, take the money and run.'”
“This is a Bear Grylls, see you later in the wilderness type of experience, except it's boring, the environment is lackluster, with typical sound effects and no music.”

The humor in the game is characterized by amusing bugs and unexpected interactions, such as hunters inadvertently being taken out by detonators. Players find the early access experience both entertaining and frustrating, likening it to a comedic yet disheartening scenario.
“I have to say, early access is an equally hilarious and saddening time where developers seem to enjoy selling digital pet rocks.”
“It's funny watching the hunters come after you, and if there is a detonator around, he will take out the hunter for you.”
“Funny bugs.”
“The humor in the game often falls flat, relying too much on funny bugs rather than clever writing.”
“I expected a lot more from the humor; it feels forced and doesn't land well.”
“The jokes are repetitive and lack originality, making the humor feel stale.”

Players express frustration with the grinding aspect of the game, noting that obtaining essential resources like nuclear cells is excessively difficult and time-consuming, often requiring luck rather than skill. The overwhelming number of powerful enemies, combined with scarce ammunition and their ability to shoot through walls, makes survival challenging and forces players to rely on specific strategies, such as camping, to progress. Overall, the grinding experience is seen as tedious and unbalanced, detracting from the enjoyment of the game.
“It's now impossible to play unless you get lucky and spawn next to the nuclear power plant with 4 nuclear cells. I spent a week grinding for cells and only got 3 with max luck skill. Otherwise, you can't outrun the hundreds of bullet sponge robots that know exactly where you are at all times. It was fine when there were only a few robots hunting you down, but with how rare ammo is and how robots can shoot through walls (if they're close enough and their guns phase through the wall, yes, this happens), mixed with many more robots spawning now, you simply can't survive without maxing jump skill and camping on a roof while restarting the game to respawn loot for yourself.”
“The grinding in this game is excessive and feels more like a chore than a fun challenge. I find myself repeating the same tasks over and over just to make any progress, which quickly becomes tedious and frustrating.”
“I spent countless hours grinding for resources, only to find that the rewards are minimal and often not worth the effort. It feels like a never-ending cycle of repetitive tasks with little to no payoff.”
