"The Darkness" is a horror shooter game with both single-player and multi-player modes. On his 21st birthday, Jackie Estacado, a hitman for the Franchetti crime family, discovers the destructive powers of the timeless force known as The Darkness within him. As Jackie learns to control The Darkness, he must take back control of the Franchetti family and defeat its ruthless ruler, his "Uncle" Paulie, while dealing with The Darkness's increasingly independent and malevolent behavior.
