monetization
62 mentions Positive Neutral Negative
2% positive mentions, 6% neutral mentions, 92% negative mentions
Users overwhelmingly criticize the app's monetization for excessive, intrusive advertising—especially frequent betting ads—that often interrupt live content and cause buffering or crashes. Forced account registration combined with unskippable ads frustrates listeners, degrading the overall experience and prompting many to abandon the app.
- “The app is not good at all—if you're on, say, a 20-minute journey, it can be as much as 10 minutes listening to ads.”
- “After registering and listening to advertising that went on and on, they admitted that they did not broadcast in my area.”
- “Far too many ads—one every few minutes ruins it. There's no flow to the broadcast as the ads cut in way too often.”
stability
28 mentions Positive Neutral Negative
0% positive mentions, 0% neutral mentions, 100% negative mentions
The app suffers from frequent stability issues including crashes, freezes, glitches, and playback interruptions, often requiring users to reinstall to regain function. Problems persist across devices and updates, severely impacting usability and causing frustration despite occasional periods of smooth operation.
- “Absolutely terrible. Constantly stopping, glitches throughout. Sometimes doesn't even want to work or load up. The previous app was so much better. An absolute waste of time. Brilliant when it works but I'm constantly having to pull my phone out of pocket or go back to it to see why it's stopped working.”
- “Nightmare to get to work on my phone. Have to keep uninstalling app and when it does work it freezes after a couple of minutes and I have to close app and reopen. Shame as I have no other way to listen so end up having to use BBC app for radio 5 as this app works fine.”
- “You can't pause, doesn't remember where you are when you stop streaming. Unstable app, crashes, freezes, terrible user experience.”

While some appreciate the engaging sports talk shows, others prefer switching to music stations when certain hosts are on air. Overall, the music selection and radio experience are highly recommended.
- “It is one of the smoothest radio and TV apps out there, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the best sports and music in the world.”
- “I'm not so much into music but more radio for the mind; what Talksport does is entertain us with radio for the mind as well as adding so much more, including that all-important sports news.”
- “On BBC Sounds or listening to music on Amazon, this does not happen.”
- “Alan Brazil, Ally Moist, and Ray Parlour are by far the best three on Talksport; when the two other clowns, O'Hara and Cole, are on, the radio switches to music stations. Cole can't even string a sentence together, like he's reading off a script all the time.”
- “It also has other stations for music and political issues if that's your cup of tea!”
