About
SPAERA is a head-to-head puzzle fighting game, using an unique match-3 cascading mechanic as its core system. The world of SPAERA is heavily inspired by characters, gameplay and themes from games that we loved to play as we were growing up. We've created a roster of eight original characters that you can select, each with his or her own individual story. Players can battle the computer in the game…

- Spaera offers a fun and engaging gameplay experience reminiscent of classic puzzle games like Tetris and Puyo Puyo, with unique character abilities that add depth to the matches.
- The game features charming graphics and a catchy soundtrack, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the gameplay.
- There is potential for strategic gameplay with the magic system, allowing players to use spells to influence the match, which can lead to exciting and competitive battles.
- The game is currently in early access and feels unfinished, lacking essential features like a tutorial, a coherent story mode, and sufficient content for single-player gameplay.
- Many players have reported balance issues and bugs, leading to frustrating gameplay experiences, especially in competitive matches where mechanics can feel inconsistent.
- The online community is sparse, making it difficult to find matches, and the game has been criticized for its lack of updates and developer engagement since its initial release.

Many reviewers express disappointment that the mode, despite its name, feels incomplete and offers no real challenge or storyline, leaving players feeling unsatisfied and hoping for future updates to address these shortcomings. Overall, the consensus is that the story mode is essentially non-existent, reducing the experience to a hollow arcade-like format.

“After finishing the story mode (which takes about an hour), it feels like the game doesn't have anything else to give.”
“The game has an option labeled 'story,' but it's primarily just a 'vs CPU' option with increasing difficulty.”
“Lots of animations but no characterization to the solo story, and it just abruptly ends.”
