While it has some novel ideas and interesting concepts, Oil Rush is ultimately a poorly made and extremely boring game.
Oil Rush is a Science Fiction Real Time Strategy game with good graphics and dynamic gameplay, dropped in a post-apocalyptic world of nuclear war. Control floating production platforms and oil rigs, and discover new technologies to send naval and air units into battle. The game features a single-player campaign of 16 missions, 15 maps for multiplayer battles over LAN and Internet, avoiding micromanagement of every unit while still providing full control over strategy and economy.

The game suffers from significant stability issues, including frequent bugs and glitches that disrupt gameplay, such as unexpected window mode transitions and loss of save files. Players report being unable to progress past early levels due to these persistent technical problems.
“I don't know too much about the game since I can't get past level 2 because it keeps switching to window mode by itself, forcing me to save and close it, and then my save file is gone. The game is riddled with bugs, glitches, and a poor setup overall.”
