The game suffers from poor optimization on PC, likely due to its console porting, leading to noticeable performance issues such as lag during key actions. While it features appealing pixel art and audio, these technical problems detract from the overall experience.
“The game features a simple title with good pixel art and audio, but I experienced some odd performance issues that might be specific to my PC. Major actions like getting hurt or picking up a weapon caused the game to pause for a second or so.”
“Sadly, this is just another case of a poorly ported console game that is not optimized for PC.”

Mega Coin Squad Review
Mega Coin Squad is a superbly entertaining title. Not everyone will be down with the speedrunning single-player style which sees you completing the admittedly short game multiple times with different characters, but there's fun to be had even for those that oppose the style the most. With multiple players, the game really shines and if you're looking for some fun and competitive action with your friends locally, this is right on the money.

With its retro style pixelated graphics and catchy yet repetitive music, Big Pixel Studio’s Mega Coin Squad wears its heart on its sleeve. This is an old school, back-to-basics platformer that places emphasis on addictive and challenging gameplay, and I’m happy to say it’s also a huge heap of fun.

Mega Coin Squad's decent in multiplayer, but it's over all too quickly when playing alone. Some cumbersome mechanics and a teensy runtime rain on this game's parade, and when you take into account its $14.99 price tag, you may need a coin squad of your own to justify spending so much on it. Still, there is fun to be had with friends here, so it's worth a look if you've already picked the likes of Towerfall Ascension and Nidhogg clean.
