There are two things to take away from inbento. First, that there’s a market for puzzle games based around national and regional cuisine; and second, you can’t go wrong with digital kittens.
Inbento is a single-player kids adventure game that combines pattern-matching puzzle mechanics with a heartwarming story about parenthood and growing up. Players recreate over 120 Japanese lunch box recipes using a limited number of ingredients, while learning about the life of a kitten family. With its fantastic graphics, good music, and increasing complexity, Inbento offers an emotional and engaging experience for players of all ages. No prior cooking knowledge is required.

Critic Reviews
inbento (Nintendo Switch)
inbento is a joyful little game that’s wonderfully presented. It’s perhaps too challenging for young kids, however, and not varied enough for adults. That doesn’t mean it’s not worth playing, but rather—like lunch itself—that it’s best enjoyed if you and a youngster can share the time spent with it.
80%Cute cats making food - Inbento review
Inbento is cute, has simple mechanics, and doesn’t require tedious amounts of hours to master it. There are over one hundred levels, and it has a low price point, meaning you’ll never have to worry that you didn't get enough for your money. Plus, those cutscenes make it so worthwhile to finish a level.

Inbento is a neatly packaged puzzler with enough challenge to keep you engaged and just enough charm to keep you sane.
