Gravity Heroes

While charming in places, and with some fun gravity bending mechanics to stroke your novelty seeking, Gravity Heroes isn't all it could be. With a single player campaign that's barely playable, and too many tedious levels, this retro shooter leaves a lot to be desired. In the finer moments of Gravity Heroes, it can be a fun co-op experience, but without online play it is difficult to recommend this game for any single gamer.

    21 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The gameplay of "Gravity Heroes" features innovative mechanics, particularly its gravity-shifting and resurrection systems, which enhance the multiplayer experience and add a layer of fun amidst the chaos. However, some players find the gameplay tedious and overwhelming in single-player mode, with limited content and a steep difficulty curve that may not appeal to everyone. Overall, while the game boasts beautiful graphics and solid mechanics, it may lack depth for those seeking a more engaging long-term experience.

    • “Interesting innovative gameplay.”
    • “The gravity shifting mechanics are amazing.”
    • “Gravity Heroes doesn't pull any punches with its difficulty, and skillful gameplay is as beautiful as the graphics.”
    • “However, the physical gameplay is incredibly tedious.”
    • “Even with the arena style gameplay, there's only 15 stages, 5 of which are boss fights.”
    • “Granted, that's sorta the gotcha here: sometimes there's a lot going on and it can get overwhelming in the single-player portion, so this does seem to be a game better with friends considering the resurrection mechanic.”

    9 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The graphics in the game are widely praised for their beauty and polish, featuring stunning animations and well-designed pixel art that enhance the overall aesthetic experience. While some players appreciate the visuals, they express mixed feelings about the gameplay, suggesting that the graphics may outshine the game's mechanics. Overall, the visuals are a standout aspect, leaving players hopeful for future improvements in gameplay.

  • music
    5 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The music in the game adapts to the changing locations and themes, featuring a synthetic sound that evokes a sci-fi atmosphere. • “And for those of us who remember Top Gear's theme on SNES, Barry Leitch composed the music.”
    • “Since you'll be firing your weapon more often than not, it tends to drown out the music though.”
    • “With what I'd call a synthetic sound effect, the game includes tones in its songs that make me think of a sci-fi setting.”
    • “As the locations and gimmicks change after each boss battle, so does the music.”
