About
"Graveyard Shift" is a first-person shooter where you, as a graveyard keeper, must fight against restless ghosts and liches who are revolting due to an overabundance of graves. The game features unique mechanics and a distinct style that blends toonish and horror elements. Your only allies are magical mushrooms, which you use to create mushroom-based weapons to re-kill the undead. The goal is to restore peace to the graveyard.

- The game features a charming visual art style and a unique spell/mushroom crafting mechanic that adds some fun to the gameplay.
- It's a casual and spooky game that can be enjoyable for short bursts, especially around Halloween.
- The power-ups, such as slow motion and infinite mushrooms, add an interesting twist to the gameplay.
- The gameplay is very repetitive and lacks depth, with players often finishing the content in under 30 minutes.
- There are numerous bugs and issues with hit detection, making the game feel unpolished and frustrating.
- The lack of variety in enemies and game modes leads to a dull experience that fails to keep players engaged.
gameplay
10 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe gameplay has received mixed reviews, with some players appreciating its charming visuals and unique mechanics, while others criticize its lack of content, such as limited game modes and replayability. Although the game plays smoothly and has potential, many feel it becomes repetitive quickly and could benefit from additional features and improvements in level design and enemy behavior. Overall, while it offers enjoyable moments, the gameplay experience is seen as lacking depth and variety.
“It has a very charming visual look with a very unique game mechanic, even includes power-ups.”
“The game looks fairly decent, it plays smoothly, and the art style and gameplay go well together.”
“Gameplay is a bit short but it's highly replayable.”
“Old flash games had more content and better gameplay than this.”
“The gameplay is a bit lacking, given that there are only wave and endless modes, no missions, no alternative graveyards (levels), and no multiplayer support. These are the biggest issues; it seems it will get old quickly, and it does. However, it's good in bursts for some time-killing. If you were to add these things, replay value would skyrocket in comparison to what it is now. The clipping of the ghosts feels kind of cheap; they can go through the ground at any point and fly right up to you. This is mostly seen on a slope where they have to compensate for your positioning. There are quite a lot of trees that are mostly off the ground, which looks silly. The writing could really use improvement, and there are a lot of issues climbing the terrain at certain parts with too much of a slope.”
“Honestly, I got this game out of curiosity, and that has been quenched after about 8 minutes of gameplay.”
