In Xenoblade Chronicles, Shulk and his friends seek to understand the Monado sword and protect their home from the Mechon, violent robotic creatures, in an expansive open world that encourages exploration. The success of Xenoblade Chronicles led to the creation of the sub-series Xenoblade Chronicles X and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
