The gameplay of this social deduction game is characterized by its asymmetrical mechanics that foster strategic thinking and tension, though it can be overwhelming for new players due to its complexity and reliance on mechanical confirmation. While the game offers a unique blend of hacking and social deduction elements, some players find the gameplay loop repetitive and the balance between roles lacking, leading to frustration. Overall, it provides an engaging experience for those willing to invest time in mastering its mechanics, but may deter casual gamers due to its steep learning curve and community dynamics.
“This asymmetrical gameplay creates tension and encourages strategic thinking from both sides.”
“The multitude of different classes and the inclusion of neutral classes without good guy/bad guy roles means that the gameplay isn't repetitive, and the game can play out in many different ways, unlike simpler social deduction games that have only a couple of end results.”
“From a mechanical gameplay perspective, this is easily the most intriguing and almost perfectly balanced social deduction game I've yet seen.”
“However, some players might find the gameplay loop repetitive after extended periods.”
“The mix of hacking mechanics and social deduction can be overwhelming at first, which might deter some casual gamers.”
“New players can get easily overwhelmed by the large amount of mechanics, and veteran players will more than likely vote out level 1s and 2s for no reason or because they can't defend their claims.”
