Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- December 3, 2016
- Capcom U.S.A., Inc.
With Marvel vs Capcom Infinite being released sometime during 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, this re-release of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 serves two purposes. The first is to breathe some new life into the game, perhaps get it back into the forefront of the fight game scene, not that it left. The other is to introduce the game to a new generation of gamers who didn’t experience the title on PlayStation 4 or Xbox 360, as well to get them hyped for the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. It’s a smart move on Capcom’s part and one that I doubt any fighting game fan or any game will think otherwise.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a fighting game that features 2-player and multi-player modes. This edition includes all previous DLC, Marvel vs. Capcom art, and HD graphics. Players can customize teams in Heroes and Heralds mode and battle other players online, although online features may be discontinued.

The gameplay in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is highly praised for its engaging mechanics and diverse character roster, providing a satisfying experience that remains relevant over time. While some players note that skill levels can lead to a competitive environment where juggling becomes a dominant strategy, the overall enjoyment and smooth performance, including zero loading times, contribute to its strong appeal.
“Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is an excellent fighting game with an amazing pool of characters and finely-tuned gameplay.”
“Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 nailed it in 2011 with great gameplay and all of it still stays relevant and fun five years removed.”
“[all of the characters and costumes!, gameplay is as satisfying as ever, looks and runs great]”
“Once skill levels increase, this game becomes purely a juggle competition. Once you're off the ground, you're dead. This comes into play mainly in online and hard modes, or you might not notice it. This sort of gameplay is its own form of broken. I still prefer number 2 overall, but that only detracts from this one a little. You can play a lot of different characters in this one, and it can still be a blast.”
“The gameplay can feel unbalanced at times, especially when certain characters dominate the match. It often leads to frustrating experiences where skill doesn't always matter.”
“While the game has a lot of potential, the mechanics can be clunky and lead to a steep learning curve that may turn off new players.”

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 rumbles onto PC years after its original, last-generation console release. Despite irritating infinite combos and a barren online lobby, it was worth the wait, thanks to fun fighting, included console DLC, and a wallet-friendly price.
70%ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 Review
There has never been a fighting game like this one before, and judging by Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, there probably never will. This port of UMvC3 will not be remembered as simply the PC version of the game, it will go down as the definitive version. UMvC3 has stood the test of time and then some. Going back to the game after all this time makes me forget why I ever stopped playing it. Priced at £20/$25, it’s one of the best deals you can get for a fighting game of this calibre. With mods already appearing and the Marvel community appearing to be rejuvenated as a result of the re-release, there isn’t a better time to pick up this game.
