The graphics of the game have received mixed reviews, with many praising them as ahead of their time and still visually appealing today, particularly in certain environments. However, some players noted that the graphics can appear dated, with issues like poor character animations and occasional glitches. Overall, while the visuals are generally considered decent for an older title, they may not meet the expectations set by more modern games.
“The graphics were ahead of its time by a wide margin and even the music and story to the game was well planned and thought out to give the gamers a better experience while playing.”
“Beautiful graphics for a 2010 game.”
“The graphics are amazing even by today's standard, the combat is really easy to master, quests are really interesting without letting you feel that you are grinding and the story is well put together.”
“The graphics are horrible, the hair's alpha layer is messed up and looks like they have a dryer sheet in their hair.”
“First, do not use the highest screen graphic settings; it is not good (bad scaling, haziness, occasional lag...even on the highest-end gaming system).”
“The graphics may not be as polished as games like Skyrim or The Witcher 2, but this game makes up for it in character and diversity.”

The monetization aspect of the game has drawn significant criticism, primarily due to the introduction of microtransactions six years after its initial release, which many players view as a greedy move by the developers. Additionally, the removal of console commands to facilitate these microtransactions has further frustrated users, leading to a perception that the game has been compromised for profit. Overall, the consensus is that the monetization strategy detracts from the game's value and enjoyment, with many reviewers strongly advising against purchasing it.
“The fact that the devs added microtransactions to a 6-year-old game does not take away from what it is and how it plays.”
“Most other publishers would force you to buy the game again in order to get the remastered graphics, but these guys have added tiny optional microtransactions instead; I feel that is a fair compromise, but that's just my opinion.”
“To all those who complain about microtransactions: I didn't even notice there were any; that is how important they are... ignore them and buy it in a sale.”
“Adding microtransactions to a 6-year-old game is really unacceptable.”
“Putting microtransactions for normal in-game items into a six-year-old game and patching out the command console for it?”
“Disabling console commands in single player to add microtransactions is really unacceptable.”

While some players find enjoyment in the game's charm despite its issues, many express frustration over the persistent technical problems that make it difficult to play. Overall, the game is described as a "buggy mess," with stability issues that detract from the overall experience.
“The magic system has a lot of interesting combinations, and the archery and combat systems are well designed. The village building mechanics are surprisingly good and not buggy like you would expect. While the graphics and a few engine tweaks could improve the game, it doesn't hurt the experience in its current condition.”
“I haven't been able to play it; I'm having difficulty getting the keys to show up. I can watch the opening sequence, but that's it. I tried all the troubleshooting I could, but nothing's worked. Very frustrating!”
“It was as if the publisher wanted to get the game out the door, so they cut most of it and released it as a big buggy unfinished mess.”
“This game is so buggy; it always crashes every 10 minutes, and all saves are gone after a crash.”

The humor in the game is a mixed bag, often described as unintentionally hilarious due to poor voice acting, odd animations, and quirky dialogue that pokes fun at RPG tropes. Many players appreciate the game's self-aware charm and find joy in its absurdities, while others feel the humor can become repetitive or annoying over time. Overall, the comedic elements contribute to an entertaining experience, making it enjoyable for those who embrace its janky, tongue-in-cheek style.
“This game is good; it is very funny with the voices not matching up with the mouth movements, but it's better than Oblivion. There is more to do in this game, so I like it and I give it 9 out of 10.”
“The odd animations have made me laugh more than once, as have the often bizarre asides the main character quips. His butthead-like chuckle every now and then after murdering some monster is a personal favorite.”
“The game has a delightful sense of humor and never takes itself too seriously.”

The music in the game has received largely positive feedback, with many reviewers praising its high-quality composition and atmospheric qualities that enhance the overall experience. The soundtrack is described as epic and immersive, fitting well with the game's fantasy setting, while some players enjoyed the unique musical mini-games reminiscent of "Guitar Hero." However, there are mixed opinions regarding the integration of music during gameplay, with some noting a lack of sound during combat and cutscenes.
“I can safely say that if you like high fantasy music in RPGs like this, you'll be very happy with what the devs have to offer with this game.”
“The highlights of this game for me are writing attitude, explorable game-world, superb crafting system and fantastic quality and use of music.”
“The musical 'mini-game' deserves a paragraph unto itself. It's medieval Guitar Hero, with song arrangements that are actually quite inspired and a surprising joy to dabble in with the various bards-at-large in the realm.”
“The epic story has no connection, the characters are boring and flat, the interesting aesthetics are washed out and faded, the music is... there.”
“The game has more bugs than it does content, it's laggy, the dialogue is dry, the music is even worse, the combat system is way out of balance etc. this game is overpriced by $28.”
“There's barely any sound or music when you fight, and it doesn't feel like you're actually fighting like in other RPGs.”

“But make no mistake about it, the graphics and atmosphere are absolutely spell-binding in this game, with solid character modeling and voice acting.”
“Really liked the atmosphere.”

Character development in the game is praised for its freedom and variety, allowing players to explore multiple paths and customize their characters through a unique magic system and skill upgrades. However, some reviews highlight issues with character design and voice acting, which detract from the overall experience. While the game offers a rich RPG experience, the execution of certain elements, such as controls and cutscenes, may hinder player immersion.
“A huge, freely explorable world, untied character development with a lot of talents and abilities, own spells, tons of weapons, a number of tasks, alchemy, horses and, for example, an ambitious multiplayer conceived as a pseudo online game.”
“It is a really good RPG with a well-developed character development system and a big variety of creatures, characters, and items.”
“Classless character development based on upgradeable skills that improve when used.”
“You don't really get to make many choices for character development.”
“The animation, character designs, voice acting, and controls were all atrocious.”
“Overly long cutscenes during the intro, bad UI, bad character design, unintuitive command system... if someone can give me a reason to try to get past the introductory area I might try again, but why waste my time when there are so many other options out there.”

Despite these issues, some players noted that the game can run smoothly after initial hiccups, indicating potential for improvement.
“It will drastically reduce loading times, improve general game performance, and enable full gameplay with only moderate hardware requirements.”
“But these 3 classes can be optimized inside too... like the mage class has so many different spells and you can become a master in them like fire, wind, lightning, necromancy, etc.”
“Even though I couldn't verify my code to start the game for a day or so (until I learned Norton was blocking stuff), even though this game lagged at the very start at the dungeon section (updated drivers? I don't know, just started running smoothly after that even though the drivers were for hardline optimization...) and even though for some reason I couldn't skip the startup intro a few times... even with all those headaches this game has turned out amazing.”
“Now, however, that I'm trying to play it again, it has weird performance hitches and the menus are agonizingly slow, like it's freezing the game each time I open inventory or anything else.”
“Gameplay and controls feel nauseating, with appalling voice acting, poor UI, and a dreadful combat system. It's poorly optimized and constantly lagging. If you want to explore more of the cons, go give it a try.”
“Games are terribly optimized.”

Another open world RPG that you cannot help but compare to Oblivion IV: The Elder Scrolls. Two World II lets you take your character in many directions as far as customization. Along with that aspect and the 8-player online co-op, the game provides much replay value.
