The story in the game is generally seen as entertaining and engaging, with vibrant characters and a mix of sweet and serious writing. However, some reviewers note that it can feel shallow compared to other titles in the genre, and while the new story elements add depth, they may not significantly enhance the overall experience. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore Review
While Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore may not have quite as much Fire Emblem influence as some fans may want, the two series go very well together with a unique premise and Mirage system that is overlaid upon a pretty traditional turn-based system at its core that will satisfy both fan bases.
80%Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore GBAtemp review
Tokyo Mirage Sessions never really captures the best of either of its inspirations, always feeling like a crossover that mixes the elements of both Persona and Fire Emblem, but never blends them fully. However, that doesn't take away that this is a fun and fulfilling JRPG, even if it's not what we expected, and most definitely deserved a second lease on life on the Nintendo Switch.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is the best version of a great game. It’s got great characters with a lot of depth (except for Itsuki), varied visual themes, wonderful music, and an addictive battle system. Its debut didn’t get the attention it deserved, but maybe this encore will shine a spotlight on one of the best RPGs in recent memory.
