The gameplay features a mix of interesting mechanics, such as a unique drop system for enemy gear and various events that encourage exploration, though some players feel the jumping mechanic is unnecessary and would prefer a dodge option instead. While the itemization is functional, there is a desire for more passive upgrades, as early game choices become irrelevant later on. Overall, the game is considered challenging for a Sokpop title, offering a variety of weapons and creative mechanics, despite some criticisms regarding pacing and complexity.
“It has a pretty cool drop mechanic where you will get whatever the enemy is wearing; however, if you destroy their armor in the process, they will not drop it - the cool thing is, it even works on some bosses.”
“(+) For a Sokpop game, it's surprisingly challenging and it has some interesting mechanics, including a decent amount of events during the stages like various shops, mini-bosses, and locked rooms that require you to explore the level.”
“(+) Even though the game is not very complex, in terms of gameplay, the weapons provide a lot of variety when it comes to approaching enemies, and you constantly have to utilize what is available to you as the items have limited durability unless you modify them at the smith.”
“While itemization in the game is serviceable from a gameplay perspective, I wish the game had more passive upgrades because what you do in the first two stages is not very relevant; you pretty much replace everything you collected at the end of stage three.”
“I am surprised you didn't take advantage of the swimming mechanics; I feel like that should have been part of the level design.”
“You might find the game a bit slow or clunky, but as far as Sokpop games go, it has a decent amount of content and many creative mechanics.”

“For a tiny rogue-lite made by Sokpop, it actually has more depth than I expected, in addition to having post-game replay value in the form of loop modifiers.”
