Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash has exceeded all my expectations and is my favourite Senran Kagura game by far.
The digital "Sexy Soaker" edition includes the same DLC pack as the physical LE containing the Soaking Wet High School Uniform costume, a set of colorful bikini costumes, the Futomaki Roll Bazooka special weapon, a Bebeby pet card, and a special set of skill cards, and a downloadable soundtrack containing the same 47 music tracks included in the soundtrack CD of the physical version.

The story of "Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash" is a lighthearted and comedic narrative centered around a water gun tournament featuring beloved characters from the series, each with their own backstories and motivations. While some players find the plot entertaining and filled with absurdity, others criticize it as simplistic and repetitive, often feeling like it exists merely to support the gameplay rather than stand on its own. Overall, the story is seen as a fun distraction that complements the game's engaging mechanics, though it may not appeal to those seeking a serious narrative experience.
“This game is a stunning blend of captivating storytelling, engaging characters, and exhilarating combat that provides a unique and immersive experience.”
“The plot centers around a mysterious water gun tournament, bringing together all the beloved characters from the series.”
“Each character comes with their own backstory, motivations, and personality, making the game rich with diverse interactions and emotional moments.”
“The story exists just for the sake of having a story, so don't expect anything great; it's anime waifus shooting each other with water guns.”
“The story is incredibly bland.”
“The story is mediocre at best (as always with Senran Kagura), but there has been a lot more main story missions than I would've expected.”

The gameplay of "Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash" is a mixed bag, with some players enjoying its unique third-person shooter mechanics and card system, while others find it repetitive and lacking depth. Many appreciate the fluid combat and customization options, but criticize the grindy nature and lack of character individuality, as all characters play similarly. Overall, while the game offers fun and engaging moments, it struggles with balance and replayability, making it more appealing to dedicated fans of the series.
“The gameplay of Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash is where the game truly shines.”
“The combat mechanics are fluid, intuitive, and incredibly fun.”
“Overall, Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash is a masterpiece that excels in both storytelling and gameplay.”
“I really want to like this game but I feel that it lacks mechanically, which is why it died so quickly.”
“The story is very enjoyable and funny, but the gameplay itself is bland, repetitive, and the controls are god awful.”
“The whole concept of a Senran Kagura game with weak single player and story and instead a focus on multiplayer wasn't a good idea to begin with but combined with boring gameplay becomes a travesty.”

The graphics of the game have received mixed reviews, with many praising the vibrant art style and high-quality animations, particularly influenced by Japanese gravure aesthetics. While some players appreciate the improvements over previous titles in the Senran Kagura series, others criticize the lack of graphical options and performance issues, noting that the visuals, while decent, do not stand out as groundbreaking. Overall, the game is recognized for its appealing visuals that complement its playful themes, though some feel it falls short in comparison to modern standards.
“They are trying something new at a huge scale, and there must have been a lot of uncertainties involved, but they delivered the new aesthetics at such a high quality that every component from character movements to water animation feels seamlessly natural.”
“Whoever managed the aesthetic transition definitely impressed me with their craftsmanship.”
“On the other hand, the graphics look fantastic and the performance is very nice even in 4k.”
“But aside from the aesthetic transition, other design components of this game were ordinary at best.”
“Almost any other shooter can give you a better fix than this old game, and any modern etchi/lewd game will be far better than this censored, decade-old graphics.”
“Altogether I won't lie, I am a little disappointed; the visuals were not exactly mind-blowing, the arenas are small and not very interactive, and the core gameplay will get repetitive.”

The grinding aspect of the game is heavily criticized for being excessively tedious and time-consuming, particularly due to the card leveling system that requires players to repeatedly farm for duplicates and resources. While some players find enjoyment in the grind and appreciate the game's fun mechanics, many express frustration over the sheer volume of grinding needed to fully upgrade characters, weapons, and abilities, often leading to a sense of monotony. Overall, the grinding experience is seen as a significant barrier to enjoyment, especially for those not deeply invested in the franchise.
“While playing Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash, I never felt like my general gameplay was just grinding.”
“The card system is incredibly grindy, requiring duplicate cards to upgrade your other cards, which include your weapons and health.”
“Insane amount of grinding like wtf, if you are an unlucky person who can't play a lot or just want to have fun without any hostility, good luck with grinding 9999 million cards, 17 pit cards, and 30 girls (unless you want to be stuck on one lol), 10 weapons (and each one of these takes 10 levels to max).”
“What I disliked the most is the extremely grindy card leveling up system.”

The game's optimization has received mixed reviews, with many players reporting significant performance issues, including low frame rates, stuttering, and high CPU usage, particularly during intense scenes. While some users with high-end setups experienced smoother gameplay, others with mid-range systems struggled to achieve acceptable performance levels. Overall, the game appears to require further optimization to address these widespread concerns.
“The performance is about the same too; you should have absolutely no issues on any mid-range setup.”
“As for the PC performance, I can say with my overkill i7 7820X, 32GB RAM, and GTX 1080 Ti SLI, the game ran almost flawlessly at 1440p 60fps.”
“On the other hand, the graphics look fantastic and the performance is very nice even in 4K.”
“The game is poorly optimized; I have the recommended requirements, and the game does not exceed 40/45 fps. If it would improve, that would be fantastic.”
“This game suffers from poor optimization that will never be fixed.”
“Awful optimization; I'm getting 90% CPU usage just looking at the main menu, and multiple people have also confirmed incredibly high memory usage.”

The music in "Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash" is widely praised for its upbeat and catchy nature, effectively enhancing the game's energetic and playful atmosphere. Many reviewers highlight the tropical vibe of the soundtrack, with standout tracks like "Dream On" resonating well with players. While some note that the music may not reach the heights of previous installments, it remains a solid and enjoyable aspect of the game, contributing positively to the overall experience.
“The soundtrack is upbeat and catchy, perfectly complementing the energetic and playful tone of the game.”
“Of any other Senran Kagura soundtrack, PBS's is the most upbeat and tropical, which goes along perfectly with what is happening on screen.”
“The soundtrack and voice acting are top notch, as always.”
“No awesome music.”
“Beta testing a game I pre-ordered the special edition of for forty-five some dollars, to get a soundtrack that only comes in mp3s, and some extra cards that may or may not crash you and your friends when you try to play together.”
“It breaks away from a lot of the themes we have seen in previous games, and most music is centered around 'stage' and 'faction' themes rather than character themes.”

The game's stability has been widely criticized, with users reporting frequent crashes during various gameplay scenarios, including lobby entry and loading screens. While some bugs have been patched since release, significant issues remain, particularly in multiplayer mode, leading many to recommend waiting for further updates before purchasing. Overall, the game suffers from optimization problems, input delays, and occasional audio issues, detracting from the overall experience.
“This game runs great on my incredibly expensive PC, and the DLC is guaranteed to give you what you expect.”
“This game had potential to be a fun multiplayer game, but I'm going to have to not recommend it, because the game was pretty broken upon release, apparently still buggy, and the multiplayer is still dead.”
“I can't recommend this game right now with the multiplayer issues where it'll crash half the time if you try to play multiplayer and the buggy controls. Wait for patches to fix all of these issues.”
“14 hours of troubleshooting & not much fun.”

Character development is a standout feature of the game, with players praising the depth of backstories and the quality of character design. While the ability to customize and mix character specials adds a layer of uniqueness, it can sometimes overshadow the original character identities. Overall, the game offers a richer character development experience compared to many contemporary RPGs.
“One of the standout elements of the game is its character development.”
“Specials made characters unique; however, when you can just mix and match cards to get the specials that are most spammy or from characters you want, the original character designs fade away immediately into something in the background.”
“Character development is better than I've seen in many RPGs these days.”
“Deep character development.”

The game's replayability is a mixed bag; while some players find endless fun and value in farming and character upgrades, others criticize the limited number of levels and lack of gameplay variety, which leads to repetitive experiences. The multiplayer aspect is largely considered dead, diminishing replay potential, although the single-player content remains a focal point for many. Overall, the game offers decent replay value but is hampered by grindy mechanics and a sparse online community.
“It's a game that offers endless fun and replayability, keeping players hooked from start to finish.”
“Plenty of fanservice, no woke BS, none of the girls are better than boys, just straight-up hot and attractive girls shooting each other with water. Good game, decent story, great replay value for farming many things.”
“This game has the greatest replay value because you will probably play it whenever you are alone.”
“The online is essentially dead with sparse community-run events, and once again, no score or time attack of any kind that would add replayability.”
“However, the lack of gameplay individuality among characters and its grindy nature kills its replayability.”
“The game is certainly more playable now, and I really do appreciate Tamsoft’s efforts into improving the experience, but when the game launched, the multiplayer was already doomed from the start. The amount of time it took to fix the multiplayer stability issue was already too late, as everybody who played PBS had already moved on to better games. I have always seen Senran Kagura as a franchise that heavily focuses on its single-player content, with the multiplayer serving as an outlet for playing with friends and not randoms.”

The monetization aspect of the game has been criticized as feeling like a cash grab due to its lack of polish and effort, despite the absence of microtransactions. Reviewers express disappointment that the game seems to rely on recycled content without significant improvements.
“This game feels like a quick cash grab from Marvelous, especially considering the lack of polish. If you're going to copy and paste from the previous entry, at least put some effort into it.”
“It's strange to have this system because there aren't any microtransactions in the game.”
