  • Dynamic and challenging gameplay that is easy to learn but hard to master.
  • Beautiful 8-bit 2D cyberpunk aesthetic with phenomenal music and level design.
  • Great value for the price, offering a fun experience packed with engaging mechanics.
  • The game can feel unpolished at times, with gameplay continuing during cutscenes and after deaths.
  • Some players may find the momentum mechanics frustrating, especially when hitting the ground abruptly stops movement.
  • The game is relatively short, with a campaign that can be completed in about 90 minutes.

    6 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The gameplay is generally well-received, with players appreciating its dynamic and challenging mechanics, particularly the fun parry system and the exhilarating movement provided by the minigun. However, some users noted issues with polish, such as gameplay continuing during cutscenes and a frustrating momentum halt upon landing. Overall, the game offers an enjoyable experience, though some mechanics may feel underutilized or unbalanced at times.

    • “Honestly, for what I'm assuming is this studio's first game, it's genuinely pretty good. There are obvious inspirations from games like Hotline Miami and Katana Zero, and that's chill. The game definitely feels unpolished at times, with gameplay still occurring during a cutscene, after a death, or when you finish a level. But I'm going to attribute that to the fact that I used the minigun to get really high speeds. On that note, the minigun is the best part of this game; that's where most of the cool movement comes from. It kind of makes the sword redundant at times. To be fair, I haven't played the full game, so maybe it becomes more prevalent later on, but from what I'm seeing, you can just speed through the levels, and that's definitely hella fun.”
    • “The music is great, the scenery/backdrop is mesmerizing, and the parry mechanic is quite fun when you learn the timing.”
    • “Great mechanics that work well with the challenging platforming.”
    • “The game definitely feels unpolished at times, with gameplay still occurring during a cutscene, after a death, or when you finish a level.”
    • “I didn't end up using the overdrive mechanic all too much, mostly because if you flub it and restart at your last checkpoint, you don't get that overdrive back.”
    • “The sword feels redundant at times, as the minigun allows for much cooler movement and speeds through the levels.”
  • music
    5 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The music in the game is widely praised for its great soundtrack and fresh, upbeat sound, offering a unique experience reminiscent of titles like Hotline Miami. Players appreciate the combination of phenomenal music and captivating level design, which enhances the overall gameplay experience.

    • “Also, the music is upbeat and fresh, something I haven't heard in a game before, so it was exciting to get something different.”

The graphics feature a striking 8-bit 2D cyberpunk aesthetic, characterized by vibrant purples and blues that enhance the game's atmosphere. Reviewers praise the beautiful art style and the aesthetically pleasing color palette, which effectively illuminates the game's setting and characters.
