The graphics in the game have received mixed reviews, with many players noting that they appear outdated and poorly optimized, particularly for PC. While some aspects, like bike models, are praised for their detail, the overall environment and textures are criticized for being lackluster and glitchy. Additionally, the absence of customizable graphics settings and frequent performance issues detract from the visual experience, leading to a consensus that the game feels like a subpar console port.
“The graphics are quite nice, if a bit sterile.”
“Maybe so, but if you compare the in-game graphics of the Losail night race in the rain and the real-life video of the same, you'll find that it's a surprisingly accurate rendition of the actual scene; surface reflections and all.”
“Overall pretty happy with the game.. great graphics, pretty good physics, and decent selection of bikes...”
“The poor graphics and optimization are a big turn off, and unfortunately, poorly optimized ports of console games seem to be a common trend of Milestone games.”
“The graphics options and, particularly, post-processing and anti-aliasing, are virtually non-existent, making the game not all that great to look at.”
“Graphics are extremely lacking.”

The game's optimization has been widely criticized, with users reporting severe performance issues such as low frame rates, frequent crashes, and bugs, particularly on PC. Many players describe it as a poorly optimized console port that struggles even on capable hardware, leading to a frustrating experience despite some redeeming qualities in graphics and gameplay once the initial issues are navigated. Overall, the consensus is that the game's optimization is a significant drawback, detracting from its potential enjoyment.
“There's also a basic upgrade system where you collect data cubes each time you set a timed lap per session, allowing you to boost the performance of your team's bike.”
“For sure the options are not as extensive as in some games, but it's enough to allow balance between performance and image quality.”
“It's not really bad per se, but it's a safe setting that doesn't allow you to push the performance to its limit.”
“Runs in 8fps, bugs, crashes, not optimized at all, don't waste time on buying and then refunding this abomination...”
“Game is a poorly optimized console port.”
“I'm playing on a fairly competent machine, i7, 16gb, gtx670, ssd and the game performs poorly with frequent stuttering.”

The gameplay of the game is generally regarded as solid and realistic, particularly praised for its ride mechanics and simulation aspects. However, players have expressed frustration with poor graphics, control options, and a cumbersome multiplayer system that detracts from the overall experience. While some features, like the "Beat the Champions" mode, are enjoyable, the lack of a comprehensive career mode and technical issues have left many players feeling disappointed.
“From a racing point of view, a decent game with realistic and professional gameplay.”
“If there is anything they should keep from this game for the future, it is the ride mechanics and simulation.”
“Great game and a good sequel to '13; gameplay seems a bit smoother and the added gameplay modes are definitely a bonus.”
“0.7 hours of gameplay says it all.”
“Crap graphics and control options on a PC; I've got motorcycle GP games from over 10 years ago with far better graphics, controls, and gameplay.”
“The gameplay is fine, possibly even better than 2013's game, but that gets overlooked when you realize that the career mode only has half the riders it's meant to (and the others are 'day one' DLC that hasn't been released now some week and a half after the game was released).”

Critic Reviews
MotoGP 14 Review
While there's a few bad points here and there, none of these are game-breaking and could easily be addressed with a patch. The excellent gameplay speaks for itself and it's refreshing to see something different amongst the incredible number of car games out there that fail to remain distinct against their own competition.
80%MotoGP 14 Review – Falling At Speed Sim 2014
There is a lot to like, a lot to recommend over Milestone's previous effort. While certain flaws still exist in the troubled development of the game, the gameplay and racing experience is exhilarating and the game is worth checking out if on sale.
