  • Tight and addictive core gameplay loop combining mining and combat that provides several hours of fun.
  • Incremental progression system with noticeable upgrades and several weapon types to experiment with.
  • Roguelite mode adds challenging gameplay for those seeking more difficulty beyond the main campaign.
  • The main campaign is very short and shallow, often completed within 3-4 hours with limited replay value.
  • Severe performance issues and lag in late game, especially with numerous enemies and effects on screen.
  • Prestige and roguelike modes feel unpolished and unrewarding, with buggy features and lack of meaningful upgrades.

    8 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The gameplay offers a tight loop with incremental improvements and resource collecting, but some players find the pacing slow early on due to repetitive levels. While the main mode provides around 4-5 hours of decent gameplay, the prestige mechanic's delayed availability and the weak roguelike mode may limit long-term engagement. Overall, it's enjoyable for fans of versus and resource management games.

    • “Just started, but the gameplay loop is surprisingly tight, with lots of ways to incrementally improve.”
    • “I wish the prestige mechanic was available earlier but still a good time; check it out if you like versus and resource collecting games.”
    • “As you play, you gain iron and other gems to level up various game mechanics.”
    • “There's perhaps 4 or 5 hours worth of gameplay in the main mode.”
    • “The pacing felt a bit off for me; you have to repeat the first level or two a few too many times to make any progress, and the gameplay itself could have been a little faster at that point.”
    • “For the price, it's not awful and it gives you a few hours of decent gameplay, as well as an optional albeit weak roguelike mode on top of the main campaign.”
  • optimization
    6 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Optimization is a notable issue, with significant performance drops occurring in mid to late game due to excessive object generation and accumulation, especially during AFK farming. Users report that large numbers of on-screen items cause the game to become nearly unplayable, highlighting a need for better performance management in later stages.

    • “Similar performance issues occur from too many objects if you have a decent survival build and AFK farm for a few minutes: the few thousand drops on the floor will bring your computer to its knees.”
    • “Mid-game sparks quickly become completely unplayable as a performance drain.”
    • “Similar performance issue from too many objects appears if you have a decent survival build and afk farm for a few minutes: the few thousand drops on the floor will bring your computer to its knees.”
    • “Towards the later stages of incremental mode, performance starts to deteriorate significantly.”
  • grinding
    5 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Grinding in this game is considered tedious and unrewarding, with the prestige system offering little incentive beyond replaying the same grind. However, some players appreciate certain grinding activities like farming spaceships for the factory as a positive addition.

    • “Feels too grindy and unrewarding.”
    • “This would have worked a lot better if they prioritized this as a roguelike, instead of the grindy main story mode.”
    • “There is a prestige system to reset and start over but it doesn't unlock anything new and there's not much point to it; you just have to play the tedious part of the game again.”
  • story
    4 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The story mode in Mining Survivors is slow-paced and somewhat unpolished, lasting around three hours, which some players find underwhelming. While not inherently problematic, the grindy nature makes it less engaging compared to the roguelike mode, which might have been a better focus.

    • “Mining Survivors is a not quite polished, slow-paced incremental game with two modes - story and rogue-like.”
    • “I was done with the story in a few hours, so not horrible but again, three hours to complete is not great.”
    • “This would have worked a lot better if they prioritized this as a roguelike, instead of the grindy main story mode.”
    • “Mining survivors is a not quite polished, slow-paced incremental game with two modes - story and rogue-like.”
    • “The sluggish creep the story mode starts with is not really a problem per se.”
  • replayability
    3 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Replayability in the game is mixed: while some players find it engaging enough to revisit due to variability, others feel the content is too limited and the short playtime reduces the incentive to replay. Additionally, starting conditions can significantly impact the experience, affecting replay value for some users.

    • “Really a great time, I've beaten the game and am still revisiting it due to replayability!”
    • “The variability is part of what makes it replayable, though some runs may start poorly.”
    • “Devs could have made an insanely good game, but there simply isn't enough content; it took under 4 hours to finish the entire game, and it's not very replayable.”
    • “Devs could have made an insanely good game but there simply just isn't enough in the game, it took under 4 hours to finish the entire game and it's not really re-playable.”
    • “On the one hand the variability is part of what makes it replayable, but on the other you can definitely have a very bad start.”
  • humor
    1 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The humor is described as bold and edgy, delivering a dangerously funny experience that stands out.

    • “Dangerously funny!”
  • graphics
    1 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's graphics are basic and flash-based, which some users find acceptable, though they feel the overall experience is limited by the short gameplay duration relative to its price.
