The gameplay of Mech Mechanic Simulator is characterized by a repetitive loop of disassembling, repairing, and reassembling mechs, which some players find satisfying while others deem it tedious. While the game offers a familiar mechanic simulator experience with user-friendly tools and a few engaging mini-games, it suffers from a lack of depth, variety, and content, leading to a sense of monotony over time. Overall, it appeals primarily to fans of the genre but may not meet the expectations of those seeking a more dynamic or expansive gameplay experience.
“A simple gameplay loop that allows you to not think too much and happily take out parts, fix them up/replace them, and reassemble the mech.”
“There's jank, some of the minigames feel rough around the edges, and I am very glad for the option to shut off the android companion's 'banter,' but the delightfully zen gameplay loop and beautifully detailed mecha models sink hours down the drain before you even realize what's happened.”
“The core gameplay loop is to disassemble and reassemble already made mechs.”
“Tedious boring gameplay with decent graphics.”
“The gameplay loop is pretty repetitive, but I knew that upon purchasing it.”
“Gameplay is okay but nothing special, gets monotonous very quickly.”

The game's story is minimal, lacking a compelling narrative or backstory, which leaves players feeling unfulfilled despite the interesting world. While there are elements of character development and world-building, the focus is primarily on mech repair and management rather than an engaging plot. Players can enjoy the mechanics of building and sending mechs on missions, but the absence of a substantial story detracts from the overall experience.
“One of the perks of being a mech mechanic is you can own the mechs (up to 4), and you can send them on missions that can gain you resources (for crafting), money, prestige, or mech parts.”
“The game also includes some other elements besides fixing things such as a global stock market for the mech companies that reacts to events in the game, customization of mechs (not just repairs) and several mission types where you pilot the mechs themselves for testing, though I haven’t unlocked this feature yet it looks promising.”
“- there actually seems to be a story behind your character and the world, which is super refreshing for a game of this kind.”
“This would be ok for a game that has a solid story, but this game has no story at all - it barely has a backstory, even though the world seems interesting enough to allow for more.”
“There's no actual missions you can play, you just send out your mechs and they do stuff in the background while you continue fixing mechs.”
“Sending mechs out on missions is by far the most disappointing.”

The grinding aspect of the game is widely criticized for being tedious and repetitive, with many players finding the minigames and repair tasks unengaging after a short period. While some appreciate the chill, time-consuming nature of the gameplay, others feel it veers too much into a work-like experience, detracting from overall enjoyment. Despite its fun elements, the grind can quickly become a chore, leading to mixed feelings about the game's longevity.
“This is tedious and not something that I was interested in doing after the first time.”
“You will find that fixing the mechs becomes super tedious and that saving a tiny amount of money by repairing parts instead of buying them becomes even more tedious due to some of the minigames being repetitive.”
“Sadly, while it delivers unquestionably fun gameplay, it gets tedious pretty fast.”

The music in the game has received mixed reviews, with many players finding it repetitive and uninspired, leading some to mute it in favor of their own playlists. While some appreciate the unobtrusive soundtrack that sets a chill atmosphere, there is a strong desire for more variety and the option to include custom music. Overall, the music is seen as a weak point that could benefit from significant improvement in future updates.
“This is definitely a game where you can just kick back, throw on some chill music, and zone out to once you get into the rhythm of things.”
“The soundtrack is unobtrusive, but helps set the scene.”
“Zen fun with 8D audio soundtrack.”
“Music is uninspired and repetitive.”
“First flaw is the music, it's the same song, on repeat, it got muted after the first 20 minutes.”
“The background music feels like little more than ambient noise and it's just begging to be muted in place of your personal shop radio.”

Many feel that the engine is poorly optimized and overly complicated, detracting from the overall experience and wasting its potential. Overall, players express a strong desire for improvements in optimization and calibration to enhance gameplay consistency and performance.
“This game isn't well optimized but it can be done.”
“Instead of just letting you do things faster, they focus on letting you do more things to further improve your performance.”
“Being able to predict how a part will turn out based on my performance would be nice or at least make it a consistent pass or fail.”
“Forget even trying this unoptimized and uninspired piece of abandon-ware.”
“Tons of potential wasted to make a quick buck... horribly optimized, over complicated mini games, little variety and a robot that never shuts up.”
“Poorly optimized and has a bit of lag when trying to take limbs off the mechs or trying to dismantle said limbs (though there it is not near as pronounced.) Also lags badly during cleaning the mech.”

While some users report that there are no game-breaking issues, the overall stability is perceived as poor, with developers seemingly neglecting necessary fixes. Sound glitches and inconsistent interactions further contribute to the game's instability.

The monetization of the game has been widely criticized as a cash grab, with many users feeling that it was initially promising but ultimately abandoned after the developers achieved their financial goals. While some players acknowledge a sense of care from the creators, the lack of substantial updates and the presence of advertisements have led to disappointment regarding its potential. Overall, the game is seen as having great concepts that were not fully realized due to its focus on monetization.
“MMS is neither as detailed or as in-depth as something like World of Guns, but it also isn't filled with microtransactions.”
“Was great when it first hit the stage and was excited to see where they would go, but it turns out it was just a cash grab and now it's abandonware.”
“The devs had so much they could have done with this game, yet it is simply just a cash grab so they can move on to another cash grab game.”
“A great concept with heaps of potential that has been abandoned after the developers' cash grab goals were achieved.”

The humor in the game is mixed; while the android helper is described as amusing and adds a comedic element, some players find him annoying and pointless. Overall, the game's unique mechanics are appreciated, and minor graphical bugs contribute to the humor rather than detract from the experience.

“Overall, it's a very cool take on a mechanic simulator, and the Android is funny.”
“There are currently some minor graphical bugs, but they are not game-breaking and more funny than annoying.”
“Lastly, 'android' (tutorial NPC bot) is not funny, helpful, likable, or a good antagonist.”

The emotional aspect of the game is characterized by a mix of enjoyment and frustration, as players find it fun yet acknowledge significant imperfections that are unlikely to be addressed by the developers. Players report that the game's replayability is significantly hampered by a lack of long-term goals and repetitive mechanics. After a relatively short playtime, many find themselves maxing out their resources and mechs, leading to a sense of tedium and diminished motivation to continue. While there may be some replay value, it is overshadowed by the feeling that the game becomes stale quickly.
“The entire gameplay is built around tediousness and the replayability is really low.”
“I've put about 17 hours into this game and it's really fun, at first the mechanics of the game are great and I love this style of game and working on futuristic mechs is fun. The issue you run into is when you realize that the more money you pump into stocks, if you simply dump cash into one company and only do jobs for them, rinse and repeat, all of a sudden you're making 500k on a 16k job and it just snowballs. You're left having no use for the crafting table because you can afford to buy a 6k part out of your 6 million for the junk mech you just bought. Once you've bought your 4 unique mechs, there's just nothing left to do. You can send your mechs on missions, but it's for crafting that you don't need, and I'm stuck in this space where I've maxed everything and there's nothing else to do. While it may have some replay value, I feel like you could max out in a few hours after your first playthrough. If I could take my mechs on the missions, that would make the mission table actually worth getting, but after a few hours, the game just has no other goal, which then kills the fun.”
