"Glass Wing" is a 3D puzzle platformer where you play as Mayfly, a young girl kidnapped by a demon. With no combat skills, you must rely on your wit and agility to evade Ferace and his monsters. Along the way, you'll find tools that are useful in real life, but not so much in combat. The game was originally designed for keyboard and mouse, but gamepad support was added later. However, note that not all gamepads may work perfectly due to different analog axis orientations.

The music in the game has received widespread praise for its charm and suitability to each stage, with many noting its nostalgic, childish feel reminiscent of classic 8-bit games. Several tracks are recognized from the artist makkon, contributing to a purposeful atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. Overall, the soundtrack is considered one of the standout features of the game, with players expressing a desire for a standalone release.
“The music is very good and fits perfectly with every stage.”
“I mean gosh darn, this soundtrack is superb, and it loops like old 8-bit games used to.”
“The music is very nice to listen to, and I found that each track suited the part of the game it was assigned to.”

“Music is charming and what little voice acting there is is decent.”
“Kudos to the creator of this soundtrack.”

The game's story is described as bare-bones and lacking depth, which detracts from the overall experience, despite some players finding it interesting and engaging. While the character design is praised, many reviewers feel the narrative fails to provide sufficient context or motivation for players, leaving them to navigate the plot with minimal guidance. Overall, the story has potential but is hindered by its execution and the game's unfinished feel.
“Interesting game, nice story, good graphics, great price, great fun in all.”
“The story as of the point I got to was interesting.”
“Now that the camera is fixed, I'm starting to get into the game a little bit & so far it seems like an interesting story.”
“The controls are a mess, the camera is wild. The game just throws you into the story with no explanation of what's going on or why you should care.”
“Then there is the story; it's very bare bones, nothing to make it bigger or cool. Even with a bare bones story, you can have it feel bigger with fun NPCs to talk to and cool and crazy bosses to fight.”
“To be honest, it has potential, but as it stands, it seems like an unfinished game, though the entire story is still there.”

“It has a very Legacy of Kain feel to it, and even with the simple graphics, it's oddly beautiful.”
“The artwork is beautiful; I have always loved the older game styles of the N64 and the GameCube, and this game brings that back to us.”
“The graphics in some areas do show this is an indie game.”
“The visuals seem dated, but this is part of the charm.”
“If you are a graphics gamer (you know who you are), you might not appreciate this game.”

The gameplay is characterized by clumsy controls and a lack of guidance, requiring players to navigate challenges independently. While the puzzles are engaging and the introduction of various mechanics adds depth, issues like the problematic double-jump mechanic detract from the overall experience. The game evokes a retro feel reminiscent of N64 or Saturn titles, but it struggles with execution.
“The various items and mechanics they introduced throughout the game add depth and variety to the experience.”
“The story and gameplay give you just enough to get going, allowing you to figure everything out for yourself.”
“Until they can fix their double-jump mechanic, I wouldn't recommend it.”
“The gameplay is a bit clumsy, but bearable, and the puzzles are challenging and interesting.”
“The story, gameplay (including wonky controls), and design could have been on the N64 or Saturn (but it is in 60fps if you select the option). There is no handholding; you have to figure everything out for yourself. The game gives you just enough to get going.”
