About
"Destroy All Humans!" is an action-adventure game where you play as an alien named Cryptosporidium 137, tasked with harvesting human DNA. Wreak havoc with an array of alien weaponry, including a ray gun, anal probe gun, and a nuclear bomb, or use telekinesis to toss cars and cows. Travel by jetpack or UFO, and shape-shift into humans to infiltrate and annihilate mankind, all while experiencing the thrill of an extraterrestrial invasion.
- The game successfully captures the nostalgia of the original while offering updated graphics and gameplay improvements.
- The humor and quirky characters provide an entertaining experience, making it a fun distraction.
- The remaster includes new features like focus mode and additional missions, enhancing the overall gameplay.
- Gameplay can become repetitive, with many missions feeling similar and lacking variety.
- Technical issues such as glitches and lag can detract from the overall experience.
- Some players found the controls clunky and outdated, particularly during on-foot segments.
story
12 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe story follows Crypto-137, an alien tasked with harvesting human DNA in a 1950s setting, but it is criticized for being disjointed and lacking variety in mission design. While the game features a mix of open-world exploration and action, many missions feel repetitive, and the humor may not resonate with all players. Overall, the narrative struggles to maintain engagement due to its simplistic objectives and underutilized stealth elements.
“Set in the 1950s, the game follows the story of Crypto-137, an alien sent to Earth to harvest human DNA and complete various missions.”
“The gameplay is a mix of open-world exploration and action-packed combat, and you'll have access to a variety of weapons and psychic abilities to aid you in your mission.”
“Maybe instead of calling this game 'Destroy All Humans', they should call it 'Mind Control All Humans', since half the time you fail the mission for killing humans!”
“The story is all over the place and too far out there.”
“There's a real lack of variety with the missions, with most repeating themselves constantly with different enemies.”
“Combat, mission objectives, and level design are simplistic and highly repetitive, with lackluster enemy AI.”

Destroy All Humans Review – An Obsolete Invasion
60%Destroy All Humans! Review
With lots of references to pop-culture, this parody of an alien invasion contains all the jokes and humour that one would expect from a Mars Attacks! clone, and Destroy All Humans! does not disappoint. However, the humour cannot atone for the poor gameplay mechanics on foot that feel clunky and outdated, though the saucer sequences do save it somewhat. There's a real lack of variety with the missions, with most repeating themselves constantly with different enemies. The few stealth missions are really fun, but they aren't used to their fullest potential, while the HoloBob can be cumbersome at times due to how easy it is to have Crypto's cover blown by the always watching Majestic. For fans wanting to relive the classic, Destroy All Humans! is worth a purchase. However, for newcomers wanting an alien invasion title, this may not be enough to satisfy those otherworldly desires.
