About
"Choppa" is an arcade and action game with physics-based chopper flight simulation, where you play as a reckless coast guard rescue pilot saving people from a dangerous oilrig catastrophe. Featuring touch controls, pixel art, and 80s-style rock music, progress through random stages, upgrade helicopters, and complete challenging missions while aiming for high scores on Game Center leaderboards. The game also includes a new Survival mode, where you dodge missiles and debris for as long as possible.

- The game is simple, fun, and reminiscent of classic 8-bit and 16-bit games, providing a nostalgic experience.
- It offers a variety of upgrades and randomly generated levels, enhancing replayability and keeping the gameplay fresh.
- The music and humor add to the overall enjoyment, making it a great casual game to play in short bursts.
- The game suffers from design flaws, such as random elements that can trap players and make levels impossible to complete.
- As a mobile port, it lacks the depth and polish expected from PC games, leading to a shallow experience.
- Some players find the gameplay repetitive and the progression slow, which can diminish motivation to continue playing.

10 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe graphics are characterized by retro pixel art that, while not essential, do not detract from the overall experience. Although the visuals are reminiscent of 90s arcade games and have a charming aesthetic, they lack depth and variety, with limited options for improvement. Overall, the graphics are enjoyable but may feel inconsistent and simplistic for some players.

“+ beautiful graphics fitting this game genre.”
“Fun little game with endearing aesthetics and rocking awesome music!”
“A choice was made to use obsolete, decades-old retro pixel art as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics.”
“While there are options to change the resolution for the mobile app, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the mobile app, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality.”
“Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lackluster 2D visuals.”
