Assault Suit Leynos

Assault Suit Leynos, simply put, is an updated version of a 1990 game. I do believe that it is worth the cost to upgrade for fans of the original game and also for fans of 2D shoot 'em ups in general. However, the game simply will not appeal to the vast majority of gamers in 2016.
"Assault Suit Leynos" is a high-definition remake of the classic Mega Drive game, where you pilot an Assault Suit to fight against an unknown enemy threatening humanity. Experience eight stages of side-scrolling action and equip your suit with a variety of weapons to save Earth. The game combines old-school design with updated visuals and sound for a modern experience.

Sporting a varied campaign that's bolstered by satisfyingly weighty gameplay, Assault Suit Leynos is a good way to enjoy a hardcore classic. It isn't especially friendly to newcomers and at times its overwhelming mission design can be a burden, but it still stands strong as a solid mech shooter that'll put your piloting skills to the test – even 26 years after its original release.
70%Assault Suit Leynos Review (PS4)
Assault Suit Leynos is very much an arcade title, plain and simple. With only a handful of levels, the grueling difficulty of Classic Mode gives the game more worth. Honestly, it feels like those old arcade classics that were nearly unbeatable, eating up all of your quarters. More levels would have been nice—this game is very short—but the different modes and stage scoring give you some reason to come back. One complaint I will stand by, though, is a lack of varied play. The game is sometimes pretty one-note, and holding down the trigger on your gatling gun will more than likely get the job done every time. Some more interesting situations and mission objectives could have gone a long way in making this game truly great.
