YUKI Space Ranger

Yuki is fun, looks terrific, and gives a decent approximation of what it would be like to spend a day inside a Japanese TATE arcade cabinet.

  • story
    8 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's story is generally perceived as lacking depth, with players noting that the early levels can feel slow during repeated playthroughs. While the visuals are appreciated, many users express a desire for a more substantial narrative, potentially through animated cutscenes, to enhance the experience. Although the main campaign offers a structured progression, it lacks a compelling storyline, leaving players hoping for more engaging content in the endless mode.

    • “I can’t pinpoint exactly what made me hesitate on getting it then; I think I was looking for more story-driven VR games at the time or something, but if I had gotten it then, I would have been as blown away as I am now.”
    • “Within 4 hours I was able to beat the story, but I haven't unlocked the final Bladewing yet, and I expect that to take many more hours. I am hoping that the endless mode has some real substance to it so there's still a reason to keep coming back.”
    • “One thing I personally would love is if there was a bit more story (as an option), e.g. told in short movies like in the game's trailer, as I very much like the animation style.”
    • “Within 4 hours I was able to beat the story, but I haven't unlocked the final bladewing yet, and I expect that to take many more hours, and I am hoping that the endless mode has some real substance to it so there's still a reason to keep coming back.”
    • “While the game follows a set sequence of levels, there doesn't appear to be any real story.”
