story
237 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe game features a more story-driven approach than its predecessor, incorporating main quests, side missions, and character relationships that add charm and variety. However, the storyline is often criticized for being simplistic, repetitive, and sometimes tedious, with many quests feeling like fetch tasks that hinder pacing. Additionally, numerous bugs and unclear quest guidance detract from progression and player enjoyment, making the narrative experience uneven despite its potential.
“The story in this game, while simple, is fun and ridiculous, and the characters all have zany personalities that are fun to discover as you get closer to them.”
“I love the story line of each character when doing their quests because it is super interesting.”
“Such a good game, always something to do, so many options for friends and partners and such a great storyline.”
“I have loved Youtubers Life and spent hundreds of hours playing the game either cracked or on other consoles and hold that game close to my heart... but this one... is such a let down, the story is weird and seems to be meant for idiots, while posting videos is entertaining it is a worse version of the original; not to mention the amount of bugs I come across, for example I kidnapped PewDiePie permanently and cannot complete his quest so he just stays in my house. The quality of movement and collision with the characters are also horrible, not to mention the "cutscenes", if they can be called that — those take the spot for the worst cutscenes I have ever seen.”
“First of all I want to start with I really love this game and will put many more hours into it, however there are some annoying bugs I ran into, some I thought were game breaking until some of the conflict of story lines did resolve itself but it was clearly not what the developers intended and some story lines are completely blocked and unable to finish. I found this conflict occurs when you start too many of the city's residents' quests at the same time. I had no idea what I was doing and how to solve any of them, and by the time I started understanding what to do it was too late. I had so many of these story quests going, some of them locked and unable to be solved. For instance, I still don't have the attar because you need the comic guy to help the AKF owner but the comic guy wouldn't give me the item I needed because I had started his quest and he needed a tin hat; to get the tin hat you need something from the doctor; however yet again I had started the doctor quest and he was after something else. So as you see it set off a whole massive chain of events where I was unable to solve some of these.”
“Honestly I feel like most people buy this game expecting a simple mostly well put together if unrealistic simulation of becoming a YouTuber but that's really not what you get. Sure that's still there but there's also a lot of unnecessary bloat and underdeveloped features, like the inclusion of an open world, a quest system, a whole main plot. It all comes together in a weird and unsatisfying way that honestly makes my feelings on the game quite sour. I feel like if the devs focused instead on refining the actual "YouTuber" part of the game they'd be coming out with a much better product instead of creating a lazily put together open world and a completely unnecessary plot that feels totally out of place for a game in the "simulation" genre.”
