The music in the game is widely praised for its quality and catchiness, effectively complementing the gameplay and enhancing the overall experience. However, some users express disappointment with the limited volume adjustment options, preferring more granular control over sound settings. Overall, the soundtrack is considered top-tier and memorable, with many players eager to download the original soundtrack if available.
“Great characters, great story, great music, great references, great inclusion, and great originality!”
“The soundtrack is also top tier and complements each level well.”
“Oh, and the soundtrack is pretty catchy too.”
“Most games have the option to adjust the volumes of different sound types (such as music, SFX, and voices) separately, and with more gradual sliders, so only having the option to adjust the music on a 5-step scale is just rather disappointing in comparison.”
“Generally, I instantly go into a game and turn the music off.”
“The soundtrack isn't what I expected for a game like this, but it's great regardless.”

Protodroid DeLTA Review – Wears inspiration on its sleeve
Seemingly made by a single person, Protodroid DeLTA is a riveting action platformer clearly inspired by the Mega Man franchise, but easily able to stand as its own title. Brilliant level design and mechanics pair with impressive writing to deliver a title that’s difficult without being frustrating. At roughly 6 hours, it doesn’t overstay its welcome and raises hopes for future titles from the developer.

Protodroid DeLTA is a challenging 3D platformer heavily influenced by the Mega Man X series. The game offers a variety of cool stages to choose from and presents crazy enemies to fight, but the jumps and enemy placement can feel unfair at times.

Protodroid DeLTA is a slick action-platformer that is a whole lotta fun to play through thanks to some great level design and slick combat. And sure, it might wear its Mega Man inspirations like a big badge of honour, but it also does plenty of its own little things to show that it hasn’t borrowed EVERYTHING from Capcom’s beloved series. It’s just a really cool experience, and one that reminded me a lot of the joyful early days of 3D platforming (and I mean that in the best way possible).
