  • The game features beautiful art and a charming atmosphere, making it visually appealing.
  • It includes a diverse range of trans masc love interests, which is a refreshing representation in the dating sim genre.
  • The writing has moments of sincerity and humor, resonating with players who relate to the protagonist's experiences.
  • The main character, Irene, is often described as insufferable and immature, leading to discomfort for many players.
  • The portrayal of trans characters and themes can feel stereotypical and out of touch, failing to resonate with actual queer experiences.
  • The game lacks meaningful choices, making players feel forced into uncomfortable situations and limiting their agency in the narrative.
  • story
    7 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The story features a complex and often uncomfortable exploration of identity and relationships, particularly through the lens of the main character, Irene, whose manipulative behavior towards trans characters raises significant ethical questions. While some players appreciate the representation of queer identities and the game's overall charm, others criticize the narrative for its problematic dynamics and the portrayal of its characters, particularly in how it handles consent and emotional boundaries. Overall, the story is seen as a mixed bag, with a blend of heartfelt moments and troubling themes.

    • “You can really tell that the team put a lot of love into this story and I can't wait for their next game <3”
    • “The character design is beautiful, the character writing is so fun, and the plot is short and sweet.”
    • “The game is beautiful, it has a lovely plot and the characters are amazing. The queer representation is wonderful, and all the guys really are hot. I love this game so much; it is a much-needed break from all the games with a lack of trans male (and adjacent) people.”
    • “We theorize the reason we only meet three trans men at this seemingly large, extravagant high school reunion presumably full of dozens of other trans men is because these are the only three dumb enough or unlucky enough to be caught interacting with MC Irene, the most insufferable little navel-gazing, willfully (arguably maliciously) ignorant cis woman to ever come out of Catholic school. She demonstrates the same kind of terrifying 'allyship' as Bible-thumping Christian liberals do: only respecting the trans characters' identities out of fear of public shame and a desire to get her way with them, and not even admitting to herself that this is her end goal even as she manipulates other characters for a chance at having sex with them. In at least one storyline with love interest Angel (whom she fetishizes as her own personal manic pixie dream boy), this results in her cornering him in a deeply uncomfortable situation, centering her own feelings while barely considering his. The narrative of the game forgives her, more or less taking her side after Angel briefly calls her out for taking advantage of him, but later apologizes for 'snapping' at her because 'masking is hard' and essentially walks back the only boundary he was allowed to set. This situation implies that not only does he, as an autistic person (another detail Irene fails to be normal about), owe her masking, but that it is his job to clean up the debris of a conflict Irene causes, as if he owes her, a person he has just met after ten years, an explanation of his emotions when he is not only having an autistic shutdown, but is also having a reasonable response that anyone, regardless of neurodivergence, might have to someone cornering them for sex in the only remaining bedroom of a remote vineyard during a thunderstorm.”
    • “The story isn't really special.”
    • “And I do understand, the whole point of this story is that she is a religious woman out of her element, and I do like that in concept.”
  • graphics
    6 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The graphics and art style of the game are highly praised, with users appreciating the vibrant visuals and character designs that enhance the overall atmosphere. The writing and pacing also receive positive remarks, although some critique the inclusion of unskippable content aimed at explaining trans identity, suggesting a disconnect with the target demographic. Overall, the game's graphics contribute significantly to its appeal.

    • “I personally love, love, love, love the art style, the personalities of the cast, and the atmosphere.”
    • “Great writing, pacing, characters, visuals.”
    • “The graphics and art are nice, the UI is fine.”
    • “There was even an unskippable portion of the game where it just explains what it means to be trans to the player as if the main demographic isn't trans people.”
    • “(These three games share similar art styles but are by separate developers!)”

    3 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game evokes a mix of emotions, presenting both disturbing portrayals of transness and autism while also featuring charming characters and heartwarming moments. • “Really wholesome even if obnoxious.”
