  • The game features charming retro graphics and a cute sci-fi aesthetic that appeals to fans of the genre.
  • The puzzles are challenging and provide a rewarding experience for players who enjoy problem-solving.
  • The developer is still working on the game, showing potential for improvement and future updates.
  • The game lacks a tutorial or clear instructions, making it difficult for players to understand how to progress.
  • Controls are frustrating and unresponsive, with no option to remap keys or use a controller effectively.
  • The game has been in Early Access for an extended period without significant updates, leading to concerns about its completion.
  • gameplay
    22 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The gameplay has received mixed reviews, with players expressing frustration over control mechanics, particularly the time pressure associated with button activation, which detracts from the overall experience. While some appreciate the challenging puzzles and exploration elements, others find the oxygen mechanic and vague instructions to be unnecessarily complicating, leading to a sense of annoyance rather than enjoyment. Overall, there is potential for improvement, especially in refining controls and clarifying gameplay mechanics.

    • “Gameplay is a blend of tough puzzles, basic exploration, and challenging boss encounters.”
    • “Unlike some, I do like the oxygen mechanic, although I think it could do with more leeway.”
    • “Because of the jump-right-in, no-frills gameplay and the low number of objects on each screen, I can't help but think this game would be equally suitable for handheld gaming.”
    • “Well first off, the controls are okay, but with the dash you get at the very end it feels awful. The buttons you have to activate many times are just annoying, which leaves very little gameplay. I feel it has very good potential, so do not take this negative review badly. If you had given the buttons a tiny bit less time pressure, this could actually have been enjoyable to play through instead of outright annoying. The time limit off puts players who do not realize it is a 'time challenge' to push them, and honestly, it is even a bit hard for people who know it is a time challenge. If removing the time challenge is not a possibility, then adding an extra 5 seconds may help. As the game is now, it's just bad, but I hope when it gets worked on a bit, it can be better than now.”
    • “Although it says 'this game has high difficulty,' the only challenge in this game is its own annoying and buggy gameplay and level design.”
    • “The controls aren't explained, the mechanics are vague, and I still can't get past the 2-room button puzzle above the start point.”
  • music
    19 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The music in the game has received mixed reviews, with some players praising it as enjoyable and fitting for the retro style, while others criticize it as repetitive and annoying. A few reviewers noted that the soundtrack feels familiar, possibly from royalty-free sources, and opinions on its quality seem to vary widely based on personal taste. Overall, while some find the music to enhance the experience, others feel it detracts from the gameplay.

    • “What a fun little retro game, I love the music that plays.”
    • “Good metroidvania game with clever puzzles and nice music!”
    • “I can't help but smile every time I think about the music.”
    • “The music design was truly awful in this game.”
    • “Repetitive annoying music, puzzles that make no sense, this game really has nothing interesting past the first 5 minutes.”
    • “Annoying and repetitive soundtrack that is ear-piercing.”
  • graphics
    15 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The graphics of the game are characterized by charming pixel art that evokes a nostalgic retro feel, reminiscent of the NES era. While some players appreciate the aesthetic and animations, others note that the 32-bit style may not appeal to everyone. Overall, the visuals are considered appealing and fitting for the indie genre, with hints of a potential redesign in the future.

    • “I am loving the retro graphics.”
    • “I love the graphics, nice and retro. The game is pretty hard but fun and enjoyable; it looks like there is a big redesign coming up which I am looking forward to.”
    • “The graphics and animations are very reminiscent of the NES era and have a cute sci-fi look to them that I really like.”
    • “The graphics are pixel, which not everyone likes.”
    • “The move swapping and graphics style is very Mega Man-like, but that's about the only positive about the game. It is currently still in 'early access,' ending with a message stating the full game isn't out yet... so... yeah... if the game is longer and more logical, it could be quite fun.”
    • “Plus, simple interface and simple graphics.”
  • story
    10 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's story is largely underdeveloped, with players noting a lack of dialogue, background context, and clear direction. While some mention a simple narrative involving a "lost moon," the storytelling is primarily conveyed through in-game events rather than traditional narrative methods, leaving many gamers wanting more depth and clarity. Overall, there is hope that the story may improve with time, but currently, it feels minimal and straightforward.

    • “As a gamer, I would really want to understand how the event started and what his mission really is.”
    • “So far there is very little storywise, but give it time and I am sure it will turn out to be great!”
    • “No proper story.”
    • “Moreover, there is no background story.”
    • “The simple story is played out exclusively through in-game events, without the use of text or voice acting.”
  • stability
    3 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The game's stability is heavily criticized due to frequent bugs and glitches that disrupt gameplay, including a malfunctioning save mechanism. Players find that these issues detract from the intended challenge, making the experience frustrating rather than rewarding.

    • “Although it says 'this game has high difficulty', the only challenge in this game is its own annoying and buggy gameplay and level design.”
    • “Annoying bugs and glitches, along with useless enemies.”
    • “It has glitches; the save mechanism does not work at some points. This is infuriating as the game is already too difficult in a cumbersome way, not a challenging or satisfying way.”
  • grinding
    3 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Players find the grinding aspect of the game to be tedious, particularly in the context of card farming for puzzle-solving. While it can facilitate quicker puzzle resolution and provide a break from action-heavy gameplay, many feel it detracts from overall enjoyment and may lead them to prefer other metroidvania titles.

    • “Playtime is primarily spent on card farming.”
    • “This helps to figure out the puzzles quicker and allows you to relax in obviously action-only screens; however, it does not make executing progression any less tedious. In the end, I hope the developer keeps improving on this title, but I will retreat to my already substantive collection of competing metroidvania games and leave this one out for decluttering.”
    • “The question you need to ask yourself is this: 'Do I like tedious puzzles?'”
  • humor
    3 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Players find the humor in the game to be a delightful surprise, with many describing it as interesting and funny, particularly in its retro style. The game is noted for its ability to provide quick entertainment while also eliciting laughter.

    • “Be patient while playing this game; you'll find that it's funny.”
    • “An interesting and funny game for quickly passing time and creating icons!”
    • “A nice retro game that is very funny! :D”
