story
3,099 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe story in DC Universe Online is a mixed bag, with many players appreciating its engaging comic book roots and character-driven narratives, particularly in the early levels. However, criticisms arise regarding the repetitiveness of missions, a lack of depth post-level 30, and the necessity of purchasing DLCs to access more content, which can detract from the overall experience. While the game offers a rich world filled with iconic characters and quests, the reliance on grinding and paywalls can make the story feel less rewarding over time.
“The storyline is rich and engaging, with quests that draw you deeper into the DC universe.”
“The story has cool moving comic book panels for the main missions.”
“The story of DC Universe Online is well-written and engaging, following the player as they create their own hero or villain and interact with iconic characters from the DC Comics universe.”
“The story is not great.”
“The prologue feels promising, but the story is not good, it's full of the same old cliché characters, and details DC Universe is known for; sadly, there is nothing interesting about the story, even though the prologue made it look like it's going to be.”
“The quests are repetitive, and the abilities are boring.”
